LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, August 15th was the sixteenth official week of the DUFFERS
2006 season. The weather was PERFECT,
80 and sunny. Although the league teed
right on time (4:41) the pace of play was SLOW due to an outing in front of the
gas league. Our last group finished at
dusk, replacing the flagstick at about 8:45.
Attendance again was very bad with only 41 of 54 members (76%) and 6 guests
(87%) making their way to the tee box. Member
attendance for the year is steady at 85%, while total attendance, including
guests and make-up rounds is 91%.

REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up rounds. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on
Tuesday.

’06 Season Final
Tournament & Outing…
Next week I will start preparing for The Duffer Outing. It’s time to start thinking about whom you
want to play with and when you wish to tee off. The ‘06 Final Outing is
being held at Creekwood Country Club, Saturday, September 9th at 9:00. Mark that date on your
calendars! As a reminder, it’s usually
an all day affair. Your dues are
finally coming back to you in the form of an 18-hole net tournament. All league members and guests will
receive 18-holes (carts included), lunch at the turn, and dinner
(BBQ ribs and chicken with all the trimmings) catered by Alexander’s
Restaurant. A prize ceremony will
follow dinner.
As in any Duffer event, GUESTS are welcomed and encouraged to attend. If
you wish to bring a guest to play in your foursome, the cost will be $75 (Skins
/ Blind Bogey included). Extra meals
for wives, girl friends, or significant others are available for $20
each. As a reminder, guests are only
allowed to participate in the Skins and Blind Bogey games and will not be
included in the skill / luck events such as proximity shots and long drives
where Duffer League money is awarded.
All guest and extra
dinner fees must be PAID IN FULL by Tuesday Sept. 5th. See Stanny if you have any Questions
or comments.

SKIN
RESULTS for Wk #16…
we had 41 out of the 45 players (91%) in the game
for a pot of $200…
Those not playing were…
Pete Cloherty and Paul Scott who pre-played this week and…
Dick Ade, Wayne Cerney, Mike Kennedy and one guest.
Hey guys… it’s just like the lotto, ‘you can’t win if you don’t PLAY’!
Low Net (32) – Gerry Rapp – $40
Pin #12 – Gary Thomason – $40
Pin #17
– Mark Clark – $40
One Skin was out at $80…
#13 – birdie – Gregg Randolph
Tradition
dictates that the winners buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It’s a pretty television graphic
presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!
MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL
skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
5+4+6+6+5+7+6+3+6 = 48 NOT 47 – Dave Haeberlie
43-9 = 34 NOT 32 – Bill Bunevich
a friendly
REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the
scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
LARRY
LAHIFF'S SKIN GAMES…

e t c h the summer holiday weekends

This years remaining date is Friday September 1st.
Again this year, all three events will be held at Eagle Creek GC in Norwalk.
The first tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is welcome to attend.
