LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, July 18th was the twelfth official week of the DUFFERS 2006
season. The weather was GREAT with
partly cloudy skies and temperatures around 80 degrees. Our first group teed-off at 4:36 and
our final group replaced the flagstick at about 8:50, just a few minutes
before sunset.
Attendance was again disappointing considering the weather conditions. We had only 44 of 54 members (81%) and 12 guests (104%)
make their way to the tee box. Last
night is a perfect example as to why The Duffers charge a premium to guests
taking part in the Skin Game. Speaking
of the Skin Game, please see a few reminders listed in the Skin section of this
NewsLetter. Member attendance for
the year has dropped again, it’s down to 85%, while total attendance,
including guests and make-up rounds has risen to 92%.
Rules Committee… (Volunteer found)
Members officiate any rules disputes that might arise during league
play.
Pete White has stepped forward and asked to be included as a member of the
Rules Committee. THANKS Pete! J

REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up rounds. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on
Tuesday.

A few Skin
Game reminders…
1) Guests
are welcome to play in our Skin game for the usual and customary fee of $5 but, as indicated
on the skin / worksheet, guests are only eligible for the skins
portion of the pot. Guests are not
eligible for Pin Shots or the Low Net game.
The three extra dollars guests contribute is a premium fee levied in
lieu of membership fees. After all,
guests do take away tee times from our dues-paying members and with the size of
the league and our stating time this year, we all know the premium placed on
getting up to the tee box.
2) As first reported in the ’06 Spring
Kickoff Meeting minutes: In addition to this year Visitor Policy, the
Skin Game has been amended so that no ‘Late Entry’ will be accepted. All Skin Game entry (payment and entry
indication) must be made prior to teeing off.
Regardless of the Skin Game balance, posting and/or paying after your
round is completed is no longer permitted!
If you are not paid and your name is not ‘X’ed out by the time our
last group has teed off, you are NOT in the game. No refund or adjustment to the Skin box will be made.
3) PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It’s a pretty television graphic
presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!
SKIN
RESULTS for Wk #12…
we had 50 out of the 56 players (93%) in the game
(but only 49 names were ‘X’ed out) for a pot of $245
Those not playing were… SIX
guest!
Hey guys… it’s just like the lotto, ‘you can’t win if you don’t PLAY’!
Low Net (30) – Jack Tabor – $49 – played his way back into the Championship /
Winners bracket but,
he must now have 100% attendance to maintain that eligibility.
Pin #12 – Al Bass – $49
Pin #17
– Jim Grimmer – $49
Two Skins were out at $49 each…
#10 – birdie – Garry Thomason
#12 – birdie – Al (the drinks are on me) Bass
Tradition
dictates that the winners buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL
skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
4+6+4+5+5+5+5+5+5 = 44 not 43 – Mike Baker (CPA?)
6+5+6+6+4+6+8+4+4 = 49 not 46 – Mark Sustarsic
a friendly
REMINDER…
Stay out of this column by taking a minute or two and check that the
scorer in your foursome wasn’t a MORON too!
LARRY
LAHIFF'S SKIN GAMES…
are a great way to s t r
e t c h the summer holiday
weekends and play a round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf
courses.
This years remaining date is Friday September 1st.
Again this year, all three events will be held at Eagle Creek GC in Norwalk.
The first tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is welcome to attend.
See Larry for further details or if you have any questions.
