My Rating:

Barbara- The movie's heroine. She quickly changes from a wimpering woman in distress on the verge of mental breakdown, into a tough, fearless, zombie killer. She kills Harry in the end.

Ben- Tony Todd! The only person who has some idea of what the heck is going on. Sadly he's shot twice by Harry, becomes a zombie, and is shot in the head.

Tom and Judy- Two young people in love and trapped in the worst situation possible. Both get blown up and become a home-cooked meal for some zombies.

Harry, Helen, and Sarah Cooper- Harry is a total asshole and argues with Ben for most of the movie. He's shot by Ben but survives, until Barbara comes back to the house with an army of redneck hunters. Helen's throat is eaten out by her zombified daughter, Sarah. Helen later comes back to life and is shot by Ben. Sarah is blown away by Barbara.

The Zombies- The recently deceased who are rising from the dead to feast on human flesh. They can only be destroyed by shooting or hitting them in the head, also fire works fairly well on them too.

Well this is the remake of the 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead. Though not as good as the original, this film has some better acting, more graphic special effects, and a few plot twists that weren't in the original. It starts out with Barbara and her brother going up to a cemetary to visit their mother's grave. Her brother is teasing her and scaring her a bit when they are suddenly attacked by a zombie. Barbara escapes but her brother gets his head smashed on a gravestone. Barbara makes her way to a little country house where she has a run in with some zombies. She runs outside and then sees a truck quickly making it's way toward the house. Ben arrives on the scene and helps clear the house of zombies and lock everything up.
Ben goes upstairs to look around when suddenly the cellar door slowly opens. Barbara screams and Ben returns with a rifle. It turns out that Harry Cooper and his family, along with Tom and his main squeeze Judy were hiding down there. Tom and Judy come upstairs to help board up the doors and windows while Harry keeps his sick daughter (she was bitten by a zombie) and wife in the basement. After a while they finally get most of the place fortified, despite several zombie break-ins. They later hatch a plan to take Ben's truck out to the gas pump (yes there's a private pump conveniently nearby). The plan fails however, when Tom stupidly shoots the lock off of the gas pump, sending gas spraying onto the truck. Ben had previously fallen off of the back of the truck and left his torch there.
So both Tom and Judy are blown up. Ben runs back to the house and helps Barbara push some zombies back out of the door. Harry takes Barbara's rifle and is about to go downstairs, when suddenly Harry's zombified daughter comes up. Harry shoots Ben to defend Sarah and Ben then shoots Harry. Ben gets hit a second time and falls to his knees on the stairs, while Barbara takes out the zombified Sarah. Harry runs upstairs and locks himself in the attic while Barbara leaves the house. Ben holds up in the basement and kills zombie Helen (Sarah turned her mother into a zombie). Barbara runs into a bunch of hicks who are hunting down the walking dead and the next day they return to the house. Ben has become a zombie and is taken out, and when Harry comes downstairs, Barbara shoots him in the head. And so the battle between mankind and the zombies has begun.

Barbara's brother: "They're coming for you Barbara."
Barbara: "Stop it."
Barbara's brother: "They're coming." (gives an evil laugh) "They don't like being awakened."
Barbara: "Why do you have to be so mean?!"

Hunter: "Jesus god-damn holy living shit! What in the name of Jupiter's balls are you doing out here all alone little lady?"

Barbara: "They're us. We're them and they're us."
