My Rating:

Sheriff Aaron Whitaker- Basically an inept middle-aged man (which is pretty much the prototype for all small town sheriffs). He falls for Louise and attempts to save her from the werewolf in the film's end. Luckily she can take care of herself.

Doctor Druton- He immediately became a suspect when it's discovered that he and Ellie had a thing going on. He admits that he got Ellie pregnant but is never arrested. Good police work sheriff.

Lawrence- Ellie's overprotective brother. He is put in jail as a murder suspect but is killed by the werewolf. So much for that promising lead.

Hugh- Lawrence's father. He constantly just lays in bed and lets out shrill cries, and is constantly screaming about the "Loup-garou."

Sarah- Hugh's black slave....err...maid. Although she looks like she's having a massive coronary half the time and has the face of a pug, she has a heart of gold.

Andrew Rodanthe- Local man and rich landowner. Turns out he's also a werewolf. He gets shot by Louise with blessed bullets and dies.

Louise Rodanthe- Andrew's sister and the love interest of the sheriff. She guns down her lycanthropic brother at the film's end.

Well this one is a made for T.V. movie. It lacks blood and violence and has quite a few fadeouts and fade-ins, just as if I were watching it on T.V. back in 1972! Anyways the movie opens with some backwoods Louisiana hicks coming across the corpse of a young girl named Ellie. Soon Aaron, the town Sheriff, arrives along with Dr. Druton. The cause of death was a blow to the head by someone (or something) that was left handed, and it's presumed that wild dogs tore her throat out also. Anyways, the sheriff tries to get some suspects. One of which is Lawrence who happens to be left-handed, the other is Dr. Druton who got Ellie pregnant.
Well the sheriff goes to visit Andrew Rodanthe, and questions him. This is when the sheriff meets his old crush, Louise. The two hit it off almost immediately and start dating ... ::shudder::, why can't some women just stick with men in their own age group? Slowly things get pieced together. When Lawrence learns that the good doctor got Ellie pregnant, he runs downtown and decks Druton and is then put in prison for assault. Later that evening the werewolf breaks in to the jail (who the hell would break into a jail?) and murders the deputy and Lawrence. So now the local law enforcement agency is short some people.
Andrew is deputized by the sheriff and the two of them go to Hugh's house to keep watch over him at night. Well apparently Hugh had Sarah put some Sulfur and other "wolf-away" objects outside, which causes Andrew Rodanhte to end up in the hospital after an "allergic reaction." Louise goes with the sheriff to talk to Hugh and they discover that "Loup-garou" means werewolf in French. So the two go back to Andrew's place (no hanky-panky involved). The whole story does fall into place though. Ellie was delivering some anti-lycanthropic medicine to Andrew but was a bit too late. She got munched on before she and the Doc could discuss marriage plans. Well anyways, Andrew turns into a werewolf and escapes the hospital.
He goes to visit his sister in wolf-man form, but he doesn't get a warm welcome. As the dumb-ass sheriff runs outside to look for him, Andy the Wolf breaks into the house. Louise escapes and runs to a nearby barn, where the werewolf traps her. However the wolfman didn't expect Louise to torch the barn and ends up falling into the inferno (luckily he escaped completely unscathed). So Louise runs upstairs and gets her brother's gun, which was luckily loaded with blessed bullets. Because everyone knows that blessed bullets, regardless of the fact that they aren't silver, are the only thing that can kill a werewolf. In the end, Louise shoots Andrew and then leaves with the sheriff. Roll end credits, and thank you for watching the ABC movie of the week.

Sheriff: "Well then they killed her."
Dr. Drewton: "You show me a pack of dogs where one of them knows how to hit you on the side of the head and knock you unconscious, and I'll sign the death certificate saying she was killed by dogs."

Dr. Drewton: "Antibiotics anyone?" (Offers the sheriff some liquor)

Andrew: "Good Afternoon gentlemen, don't let me interrupt your pleasures."
