My Rating:

Edward- Quiet and mild mannered film editor who is proof that you can watch too many violent films. The Demons inhabiting the "Loose Limbs" film series warp his mind, causing him to go on a vicious killing spree. He's shot to pieces by Nick.

Barbara and Annie- Edward's wife and his daughter. They go to visit him to see why he didn't show up for Annie's birthday party, only to find that he's gone insane and intends to slice them up.

Samuel Campbell- Edward's boss and disgusting male chauvanist. Sam gets his neck broken, is hacked to pieces, and is thrown out in the trash. Hmmmm... I wonder. Could it be that they took SAM Raimi's first name and Bruce CAMPBELL's last name to create this character?

Nick- Wimpy delivery boy who gets pummeled by Edward but escapes. In the film's climax Nick shoots off one of Ed's hands and his head. (Wimp to Hero plot!)

Nick's Girlfriend- Minor role in film, but gives Nick reason to take on the crazed Edward. Survives despite getting an IV pole through her side.

Two Robbers- Beaten severely and then killed by Edward.

Ok well this movie is... something. One thing is for sure though. It pays homage to Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn. I say this because in several scenes you can see the Evil Dead 2 movie poster in the background. Also when the robbers arrive at the house, they load up their guns. The main robber pulls out a hook, looks at it, then spouts out, "Groovy!" Also the main robber gets plates galore smashed off his head by Edward, which made me reminisce about the demonic hand scene in Evil Dead 2. But that's not all. Each movie has demons... and each contain shots of some force "zooming" towards the characters. The titles alone are similar. Last but not least, each film had a wussy character become an action hero that spouts one-liners (except that it took longer in this movie).
The film opens with a crazed film editor putting a grenade in his mouth and going boom. So the man's boss, Samuel Campbell, hires good old Edward to do the job. Edward must edit "Loose Limbs" 1-8 for a European release, but immediately it takes it's toll on him. After several evenings he begins seeing things, like little gremlin demons in the fridge, zombies popping up suddenly, seeing the old hag next door turn into a beautiful stripping blonde, and seeing other people as monsters. Well apparently the films that he's editing are inhabited by evil demons. As the film progresses, Edward gets more paranoid and violent until he ends up murdering Sam. A few evenings later, when Nick drops off some more film to edit, Edward invites him in for coffee and then pummels the hell out of poor guy.
Nick escapes just as two robbers break into the house. Each of which is dispatched with extreme prejudice by "Evil Ed." Edward's wife and daughter eventually come to visit him, since he missed his daughter, Annie's birthday. He threatens to kill them both but ends up getting shot by his wife, arrested, and checked into the mental ward of a hospital. As Ed is laying calmly on his bed, he looks up and suddenly the nurse has become a monster. Ed grabs her by the throat and lifts her off the floor (apparently he's quite strong). He throws her and takes out the two orderly's that were in the room. Then he escapes the mental ward and discoves Nick and his girlfriend.
Nick and his woman are intimately kissing when Ed decides to barge in. He knocks Nick right out of his hospital bed, and then kidnaps Nick's girlfriend. As Edward carries the girl to an abandoned psycho ward in the hospital, a SWAT team is called in. These proffessional officers are then easily dispatched of by Ed. So Ed impales an IV stand through Nick's girlfriend just as Nick walks in the room with a shotgun (which was dropped by the SWAT team leader.) Nick yells the catch phrase "Rest in pieces... mutha f@*ka!," and literally blows Edward to pieces. Well apparently Nick's girlfriend lived so we get a happy ending along with a decent body count.

Sam: (After guy commits suicide) "You're fired."

Zombie: "Don't you f*cking look at me!" (This phrase is repeated at least a dozen more times throughout the movie.)

Edward: "Daddy's gonna cuuuut you! Daddy's gonna cuuut you!"

Nick: "Rest in pieces... mutha f*cka'!"
