How To Count Cousins

Jacque's passion for family history reflects heavily on the pages of this website. In the summer of 2001, Jacque and a Ewin cousin, Linda, met because of a post em note that Jacque had placed on her Great Grandfather, William Alfred Ewin's death information on the CA Death Index. Linda found the note and quickly emailed Jacque. That summer was spent emailing information and photographs, each helping the other with identification and research assistance!

"Jacque, I thank you for posting that note. It was my priviledge getting to know you during the past ten years."

Linda & Jacque attended the National Genealogy Society Conference, held in Sacramento, May 2004. We had great fun together sharing in the workshops offered at the conference.

Jacque commented often during our search efforts that the EWIN family "does give us a merry chase!" That they did and Jacque and I both loved the intrigue of the search. What a special lady she was!

Tribute to Jacque, By A Friend

A "Celebration of Life" for Jacque Rogers-Petitclerc was held Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., at the Sacramento Zoo's Kampala Center, Sacramento, CA 95822.
Jacque passed away on September 22, 2011, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She spent over 15 years working for the California Department of Education, having worked in the Office of School Transportation, the School Fiscal Service Division, and most recently as Susie Lange's Executive Assistant in the Finance, Technology, and Administration Branch.

Jacque was known for her creative talent, and one of her passions was photography. As such, she was most often found behind the camera lens. Whether photographing people, events, or objects, Jacque had a creative eye for capturing the beauty and uniqueness of her chosen subject. Her photographs brought history to life, gave fragrance to the flower, and left the observer with a whole new perspective on something they might otherwise see every day. Jacque was proud to have two of her photographs published in books by Better Photo.

Check out Jacque's Album of Photos Gallery online at betterphotos.com -- Wonderful talent, Very Impressive!

Jacque's creative side also extended to quilting. Many will remember her beautiful quilts on rotating display, ranging in themes from patriotic to seasonal and holidays. She had a unique eye for blending colors and patterns into the abstract, with the end result clearly expressing her chosen theme.
