1) Why do you think that teenagers join gangs?
�I think that teenagers join gangs because of peer pressure, and by being influence sometimes by family members who say it�s a tradition to follow. But also I consider that you can�t do what anyone tells you, it�s your decision to join a gang or not because you are capable of knowing what is good and bad for you. There is times when you feel lonely and have problems at home and school those are some points that make you go searching for friends and protection of what they think is family.�
2) What is your experience related to gangs?
�I experience a couple of months ago a tragedy, one of my friends who I had known for years lost his life due to gangs. He got shot in the head and died almost instantly I remember that he was connected to a machine until his family and friends said good bye.�
3) Has anybody in your family been hurt from gang activity?
�Yes in the way that my family has been hurt is that my brother is involve in gangs so we are afraid that he might get hurt some day.�
4) According to your experience what do a gang recruiter looks in a teenager?
�Gang recruiters look for somone that is in need of protection, and will do anything to please the leaders of his gang.�
5) What you do when a gang member bothers you?
�I had never been bothered by anyone who is a gang banger but in case that happens I will ignore him or them.
6) What do teenagers have to do in order to become a gang banger?
�Usually anyone who wants to join a gang has to pass trough a ceremony called violation in which members of the gang you want to join beat you up to death.�
7) How would you define a gang banger�s life?
�Its a tragic life I personally would not like to live like that, they have to be aware all the time because you don�t know what is going to happen to you, also you can�t be in another neighborhood you will get kill if a rival gang know what gang you belong to.�
8) What do gangs offer?
�Gangs offer protection, friends, and be involve so you feel cool in front of other people. But in real life they don�t have nothing to offer.�
9) What is a gang banger normal day?
�Some live normal, but most of gang bangers have to deal with drugs or be ready to accmplish any plan they have on, like shoot the rival gang, and be aware of trouble.�
10) What do gangs usually fight for?
�Gangs fight for honor, territory, and power. They want to feel they are the best and that they can intimidate whoever they want.�
