| Young relative
standing outside of Dikteon Cave, birthplace of Zeus, on the island of
Crete. Caves are dark and cold because no light reaches the inside.
Great place to keep cool on a hot summer day. |

The island
of Santorini is believed to be the legendary island of Atlantis.
Santorini was formed by a powerful volcanic eruption. Lava, scientists
believe, piled to form this island that juts out of the Cycladic Sea.
There is lots of pumice on the beaches of Santorini. Pumice is cooled
lava, has the same properties as lava, and is the only natural rock that
floats on wate. |
