| HOW DID JP AND TINA MEET? the burning questions |
| Every day, I get asked the same questions. I get asked from my friends, from my co-workers, from my family and random people on the street. "How did you (there is an implied... you're cool and everything, but you're also really strange in that spooky, cool, science geek kind of way.) meet Tina?" (read here, very normal, very nice and oh so social kind of way). Here is the honest truth. We were introudced to each other through our mutual friend Tim (the consumate flake) who did not even think that we would like each other. Tim and JP were suppose to go up to DC for the weekend. Unfortunately, there was a lot of drama surrounding the trip. The plan was to head for DC between 5-6 am, needless to say at 5 to 6:00 pm, there was no way anyone was going to DC. JP suggests going to Raleigh to have a couple of drinks, go to a dance club, and invite that friend that Tim keeps talking about. So Tim calls Tina.and everything is set to meet at her house at 7:00. Three hours later, at 10pm, Tim and JP show up at Tina's house. Of course Tina is not happy and gives Tim lots of grief, but is pleasently surprised to meet a blue-eyed handsome JP. JP is stunned like a deer in headlights (his words) to see Tina. While neither let on, there was an instant attraction and connection. JP went through great lengths to hide his attraction, including that great line, "we can be such great friends" Meanwhile, Tina went through similar lengths to signal her attraction. Exactly 2 weeks later we were dating. 1 year, 7 months and 16 days later we were engaged to be married. |
