Truly, the conclusion of the holistic and progressive change of man is God. This purpose is not attained just through college degrees, nor through skills. The progress which man undergoes is actuated through the living of his human life on earth and in the eternity of his other life. Man lives his life to perfect his nature and in perfecting his nature he has made his human life more meaningful.
This statement implies that in all aspects of his activities, we ought to learn a lesson for life. A student who studies mathematics in the classroom will not accomplish something for the betterment of his self if he does not learn something for his life. Math subjects or any other academics cannot just end inside the classroom. The person must extend them to the realm of his human life outside. This is also true to all walks of human situations. All those different developments are funneled to the purpose of life’s progressive change.
But why do we learn lessons in life? Because we wish to establish a perfect communion with God in both states of our life. This same communion between God and man is not a static but a dynamic one. This holistic progress of ours is towards the attainment of that proximate and deeper experience of God. It is in Him that the divine incommunicable Experience of Happiness is eternally present in God’s Life. We, in our part, desire to experience exactly what God experience in Himself.
Although this Divine Experience is impossible for us to attain, we are still capacitated to achieve this ongoing deepening into this Experience of experience. By doing so, our human nature will be lifted up to a higher state of humanity. For as long as we continue to transform continuously into the perfection of our humanity, so our communion with God, his happiness, become deeper and closer.
But is there an end to man’s constant longing? Yes, there is. In fact, this serves for him the model and the figure of perfection in all his human endeavors. In other words, he has that vision in mind to achieve the state of the PERFECT MAN, who attained the Divine Incommunicable Experience in him.
Our constant striving towards a
deeper communion with God is all done in potency. The actuality rests on the
PERECT MAN – where perfect communion between God and man exists. However,
there’s no way can we attain God’s perfect Experience. That would be a
contradiction of our nature. God is God and man is man. God cannot progress and
perfect his Nature, for He is already perfect. But we can still do so for we
are still imperfect by nature. The greater the constant perfection of our life,
the deeper will our communion be with our Creator. And yet to be a perfect like
God, is neither our nature. Ours is not perfection but coming to that
perfection. The PERFECT MAN attains that perfect
communion with God because his nature is God-man. Being man he longs to commune
with God perfectly. And being God, he could attain that absolute perfection in
himself.
But isn’t it disgracing for us to realize that we cannot actually achieve what we desire? Probably it is, when we realize that after all our efforts to progress, we do not progress at all. In our existential nature, this is not the case. Even if we cannot attain that divine perfection, as the Perfect Man is, we are not placed in the state of frustration. For in constant change towards a deeper communion with God, we always enter into a new and deeper supernatural experience. That’s why, instead of frustration, we become even happier because we realize we become closer and closer to God. Moreover, by knowing that we experience Him more intimately, we grow in our gratitude to Him for giving us this precious opportunity. And by attaining this experience, therefore, we even praise God, which is actually His eternal will for us.
