Some of the most common problems with learning are caused by the following:
· Weak batteries – If the batteries in your JP1 compatible remote are old, replace them.
· Releasing the learned button too soon – When learning a button, be sure to follow the instructions in the manual which instruct you to hold down the button on the OEM remote until the JP1 compatible remote indicates that the signal has been learned.
· Holding the learned button to long – In very limited situations, learning may work better if you simply press and release the button on the device’s original remote without waiting for an indication from the JP1 compatible remote.
· Misaligned Remotes – When learning from one remote to another, make sure your remotes a aligned as described in the user manual of the JP1 compatible remote.
· RF Signals – RF signals can not be learned. If the device’s original remote uses RF signals (i.e. you don’t need to be in the same room to operate the device) instead of IR signals, you will not be able to learn them.
Review the above and attempt to learn the signal from the OEM remote again. Once you have learned the signal, verify that it was learned correctly by using the JP1 compatible remote to operate your device.
Was your JP1 compatible remote able to successfully learn a signal from
the OEM remote after following the suggestions listed above?
Yes, my JP1 compatible remote can now
successfully operate my device using the learned signal.
No, I am still having problems learning the signals from my device’s original remote.
