ROAD TRIP
[craigslist posting] + [anyone? anyone?] + [advice] + [the "plan"]
Reading SD poet Alfred Howard's Serpentine Highway chronicling his cross-country drive inspired me to one day do the same (both journey and journal).  How does she-with-no-car propose such a thing?

My favorite website (no, not friendster.com) connected me with a Bruce Kaplan who needs his turquoise Toyota cruised across the country.  Since I need a way and an excuse to go to the east coast, I consider
craigslist.org purty durn brilliant.

He's fronting cash for gas and tolls, listing me on his insurance, and giving me his AAA card for the journey.

1.
Anyone have road trip advice?  Random relations or connections with couches in miscellaneous towns villages municipalities along the way?  I don't snore, and pledge to house any wayward wanderers in my home, wherever that home might be.

2.
Anyone interested in an adventure? I'll game to do it dolo, but watching Identity freaked me out a bit, so if anyone else is in-between employment opportunities, not presently pursuing academic achievements, restless or just bored and itching to head east... I promise not to fall asleep while driving, to ask silly questions (if you could only watch 5 movies for the rest of your life, what would you choose?, and to eventually send you home with blog-able stories.  I do not promise to know exactly how everything will happen, but if you're willing to trust - no, not me - just life, the powers that be, and yourself... well, GTs (good times).

3.
Anyone drive a stick? Bruce Kaplan has a second car he's aiming to get to the DC suburbs, but I already revealed my lack of stick shifting skills.

THE PLAN: Leave the Bay Fri. Oct. 4th.
Pass through
Chicago (?): Visit old roommie and partner in crime Chau theater designing.  Watch Vanessa and the other babaes kick some dodgeball butt.   Wander DC.  Then head to New York.  Hang out until the Asian Am Wiriters Workshop poetry conference.  And somewhere along the way, figure out a way home.  Wanna ride?
