Time to Go HOME!
My thanks to a lot of people who were there for me!
The Staff at Enloe Medical Center, in Chico CA,  were sweet, kind and uplifting!  This is Ellie and Rick...husband and wife....my favorites!
I arrived home to the above banner from my children and grandchildren and a tray of babyfood, roses and homemade cards (below) from my 12 grandchildren!!
My grandchildren call me "Geegee".
The Following Days.......my precious mommy-in-law, two daughters and dear friend, Carol, took good care of me while John worked.
Thanks Jennifer!
Just 5 minutes at a time...
Getting outside....umph!
I think I'm having fun, ;-)
Getting the Drain Out.......
The area around my drain tube was getting infected, and since there was no drainage, my surgeon gave me permission to go to my own doctor and have it removed, one week after surgery!
Susan, my doctor's Physician's Assistant, had not done a drain removal before..only assisted....so I offered to be her
"guinea pig"  I had all the confidence in the world in her.
As you can see...the area around the drain
was really red and sore..
Dr. Meadows observes Susan do the proceedure.  He is also a great hand-holder..  It stung a bit, but was not big deal.
I was careful NOT to squeeze my doc's hand too much....he needs it! :-)
As soon as I begin to fit into more clothes...I am going to burn that shirt...I'm really sick of it! :-)  It was the most comfy thing I had to wear...just really tired of maroon and blue flowers! ;-)
My husband thinks this looks like some lunar shot, but it is just the wound, after the drain was pulled.  It is healing very nicely, today, 6 days later.

Going Home and Following Days
WELL, THAT IS THE JOURNEY SO FAR.  TODAY IS ONLY AUG. 24TH, 2000.  I HAVE MANY DAYS AHEAD.  I WILL KEEP MY JOURNAL ONCE A WEEK, AND ADD PICTURES TO MY "PICTURES" TAB.  BYE NOW!
P.S. ~~~  I did not burn that shirt.... I sold it at a yard sale for $2 instead! hee hee
My mommy-in-law was such a wonderful help and comfort.  My husband claims that he is not a good nurse..."I am a warrior!" he proclaims.  :-)  I sure am glad that I had Betty to sooth and comfort me...she also cleaned!!!  YES!
Thanks mommy-dearest!
XOXOXO
Only a VERY loving daughter would rub my swollen feet, clean the bathroom and keep smiling!
What a woman!
Thanks Jennifer!
XOXOXO
Words cannot express the gratitude to daughter, Judy, for her loving care and her willingness to help me solve my tummy ache problems :-) clean and scrub and take care of her mommy!
Thanks Judy!
XOXOXO
My neighbor and friend, Paulette, came over to baby me too.
She loaned me some pretty, long, flowing caftans to wear while I recuperated.
The caftans made me feel pretty, but ugh...
I was not...too sore to worry about makeup or hair! :-)
I did a lot of this!
