The interest in paranormal subjects waxes and wanes over the years.  Interest usually peaks when the world starts to go to hell in a hand basket after a long period of progress and stability.  And so it is as we enter the Age of Aquarius.  People are looking for an extra edge for themselves and their families.  The rise of UFO sightings since World War Two has drawn more awareness of paranormal topics.
