Every child that comes into our lives is a miracle, a joy, and a blessing. But not every blessing is perfect... at least not the way the world measures perfection.

How do we moms cope with the "less than perfect" little child that comes to be our own? Do we love her any less? Do we have less hopes and plans for him? Do we feel slighted or punished to have been sent this beautiful flower forever flawed through no fault of our own and with no hope of correction?

Just how do we moms cope, deal with, endure, go on, not give up, and never lose hope in such a situation? Well, there are as many different stories there are varied methods of dealing with these blows to the heart. Reactions range from total denial to rage, bitterness and anger toward the God who allowed this to happen to ME! For as many stories of disability, challenge, imperfection, inability to cope with life in a "normal" way, and seeming hopelessness, there are hundreds... nay, thousands of loving, compassionate, caring mothers who dedicate their lives to these "imperfect gifts from God" - some for a few years - some up through adulthood - but they all have one thing in common: endurance. It is their faithful, loving endurance which makes the burden light and the yoke easy. It is looking to Jesus rather than themselves for the answers that make them know what is right for these children who look to them for their every need, the answer to every question.

I believe that without a doubt these moms will tell you that in return they have unconditional love from these little ones that just don't quite fit into "normal" life. Mom's mistakes, failures, imperfections, and wrong choices never make a difference in the love and loyalty they give tiredlessly, endlessly and unconditionally.

Here are the stories of many children and parents who may have been considered hopeless by the casual onlooker... but a longer, deeper observance would make them see wonderful, blessed miracles happening right under their noses! Enter into their world for a time, meet them and see how they live, what they dream about and hope for... and don't miss how deeply and completely they love...
