Being a college student in the mainland what I do when I return to my family and friends in Hawaii have modified from what I did during my high school years. I am not saying that I am "old" but I think of it more of taking things much more easier and in a relax fashion.
What I would like to do is head over to the nightclub scene and dance the night away. However, there isn't a lot of venues that I particular would put on my top priority list because I believe that I am a very picky person when it comes to dancing. I enjoy dancing in venues that aren't crowded where walking is like being packed in a can of sardines, hehehe. However, dancing in an empty club isn't as fun too.
I do still love the ocassional rave that are promoted by Kaizo Speedgear, G-Spot, and or Imaginary Friends. For the Hip-Hop and R&B events Architects do such a wonderful job with events that pop up here and there.
Maybe if I have the courage, I shall try the ocean. Still pale but never did want to get burnt and crisp after doing a Sunscreen paper/report for my Cosmetic's class. What I learned in that research reinforces the reasons why I didn't go to the beach often when in high school, etc. Or maybe it's the nagging I got from my mother coming home slightly tanned from the beach. In some ways, she is still a traditional asian mother. |
