Allantria
The land of honor and chivalry. Where damsels in distress are
always saved by knights in shining armor. The nobility is
caring to all the people. Evil wizards get their justice, and
the lives of people could never be better.
How generic.
This land's people live off of the ideals of tales of yore, but the
underlying values of honor fail to exist, especially when stereotypes
go too far. Damsels selfishly hire men to "kidnap" them so
that they may be able to get someone to save and marry her, if not just
for status and riches with the knight. Anyone with armor and
a sword is welcome in a village without any concern for their lives,
and food and riches poor their way despite any actions to prove their
chivalry. People praise noble that do nothing but spew mumbo
jumbo and lie around, letting their world crumble into chaos.
Except the wizards, of course. Every wizard found by a knight
or nobleman is ordered to be executed, for they are always evil.
Unfortunately, the percentage of guilty wizards is fairly
small. Even children of wizards are not well accepted, and
the segregation of them has led to a near complete emigration of
wizards from the kingdom. Coincidentally, the mortality rate
nearly doubled since "The Great Removal." Still, the
stupidity of the populace has clouded their thoughts to the point that
they claim this day and age as the kingdom's golden years, though those
in other kingdoms see a very short future for the land.
Near the kingdom lays the Forbidden Swamp, which contains several
detestable creatures and ghosts. In the middle of this swamp
stands a large mountain, which contradicts most geology theories in the
world. Nothing has lived in the mountain for years, until
recently...

Astral Wastes
Between the many realms of the universe lies a void.
This void, monotone in design and wrought with a looming fog,
is the astral wastes. Life is pointless in this land, for
those with souls are devoured into eternal torment by its inhabitants.
There is no sun or moon. Just gray matter.
The monsters that roam this land are intangible, for they
have no real form to describe. This is the land where the
lowest of the low are banished by the great shamans of the land, and
the punishment is only given to those who show no reason to feel peace
in the heavens and would conspire against the living in the many hells.
Many who enter the land can never return, as they are swiftly
surrounded by the monstrosities and devoured. However, there
are ways out of the wastes.
When one is explused from a land, that person is sent from a portal
into the wastes. These portals are everywhere in the wastes,
but finding one may be hard for one to do with enemies everywhere.
Also, there is no guaruntee where the portals lead, without
an astral magician's map of the realms to point the way.
However, no soul has ever second guessed a desicion to dive
in, unless, of course, that person things he or she can take on the
monsters a little longer to find the right portal...
