The vision of The King and
I conference remains to highlight the wonder
of our King Jesus, and to demonstrate His
incredible and invincible love for His
people. It is about women discovering
intimacy with Jesus. It is about finding our
identity in Him. Being confident in who we
are and what we’ve been destined for. It is
about seeing the restoration of created
order, of restored relationship with God and
with one another. Whole men and whole women
result in whole relationships and whole
families.

Whole families make whole
communities. Then imagine what such
communities could be and do… Build whole
cities and whole nations for His glory.

Intimacy
“The King is enthralled by your beauty. Honour Him for He is your Lord.” (v11)
This conference is part of the fresh momentum that is occurring in the women’s ministry in Life* Expedition and is essentially an invitation for every woman to finding deeper intimacy with Jesus. It is our desire to see women grow in the knowledge that God, the King, is enthralled by her beauty! He is our Heavenly Bridegroom who is wooing us into a relationship with Himself that is surpassingly greater than any other.
Identity
“All glorious is the Princess within her chamber, her gown is interwoven with gold.” (v13)
He yearns for us to know His love despite our past and to know our identity in Him. We are His beloved daughter, His prized and treasured possession. God values the worth and beauty of each woman. Her gown, her character, is interwoven with gold, with the inner beauty of her very great worth. It is also our prayer that women will experience inner healing from scars of past hurts and abuses and find new hope and freedom in Christ.
Community
“And her virgin companions follow her. They are led in with joy and gladness…” (v14)
This conference aims to bring women of our community together in unity. Palpably, we hope to see the women of all generations and cultures come together to share their own stories and see the barriers between the generations and backgrounds being bridged through times of personal sharing and testimony. We desire to see a safe environment be created where women can have the courage to share their own story without the fear of judgment.
Destiny
“They enter the palace of the King” (V15B)
Ultimately, it is our prayer that each woman discovers her King, she is released to live a life of freedom and destiny as His beloved daughter, His warrior Princess, destined to changer her world.
Theme of The King and I conference 2008
An invitation to Freedom...
The theme for this year’s 3rd King and I conference is FREEDOM. Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Our vision is to help women discover truths about FREEDOM that our Creator God has preordained for us. To see women set free to experience intimacy with Her King without guilt and condemnation of her past and the current. To see women set free to know their identity that they are no longer a child of the slave woman, but His beloved daughter. Her value is now found in Him. We envision seeing women released into freedom to be in community regardless of her age, culture, background, ethnicity, her past, her present and her future. There will be sharing of stories without fear of rejection or judgment! There will be acceptance and walls of animosity torn down. Ultimately our prayer is to see each woman discover her King and she is released to live a life of freedom and destiny as His princess who is destined to change her world.
This conference is not only for those who are broken … and not free in some way. It is also for those who want to know Jesus for the first time or simply know Him more. To deepen our relationship with Him.
We have the privilege of partnering with 2 amazingly anointed women; Ps Dianne Manusama from Melbourne Life Christian Centre who will be taking us through Intimacy and Identity and Ps Shirley Osborn from St Martin’s and Concern Australia with Destiny and Community. We also have 4 amazing speakers sharing real life stories and Godly impartations during our elective session.
