I think the main target audience would be within the united states just due to shipping costs.
But at some point expanding would be a good idea. depending on the aesthetic stuff is constantly changing. There may
be a massive influx of interest in a certain aesthetic in a European country or Japan and it may be beneficial to run ads
there to see if it works. There is more that goes into this like how much you can realistically profit from each sale, but
if there is any profit at all and there is a market for it sometimes it is good for growing the brand.
Age of Consumers
The age of the consumers will probably be around 18-25 as a main demographic, and then branch out to 26-35. I would want
colorful attention grabbing things and I know a lot of older people above the age of 40 tend to not like colors.
Gender of target audience
This is a little dependant on the products I am able to sell. If I were to sell things such as skirts, stuffed animals, backpacks
and thigh high socks or something. I could infer that my target audience was women. If I am just selling shirts and a few other
clothing products, then depending on the color and aesthetic it still could be marketed towards women. But I want to think I would
go for a cute aesthetic so maybe I would attempt to market towards 50/50 (men/women) at first and depending on what the numbers show I would adjust.
Marketing is a lot more complicated than just assuming a target audience, People don't always respond the way you expect them to and
sometimes certain ads will pull in weird statistics.
Other
I think certain designs and artwork can be marketed to people interested in certain kinds of music
or bands. reaching out to bands in particular. Working together with established bands by selling something
with their logo or characters on it may be a way to bring in new customers. As long as you get the right consent
and talk to the band.
This same thing goes for other brands as well if there is another clothing brand with a similar aesthetic, it is
possible for 2 companies to work together and share audiences by doing some sort of collaboration.
Again with the bands you can market to the fans of the bands if any band has a similar aesthetic to the clothing that
is being sold then they are more likely to be interested in the clothes. This also applies to any fandoms or people who go
to conventions. Such as (Comic con) I can see marketing a cute aesthetic towards these people being easier than your average
Ford F350 King Ranch Edition™ driver who owns a ranch and tends to the cattle and the crops.
