About Me

Hi! My name is Josh Hall and I'm a psychiatry resident at the University of California San Diego. I graduated from the M.D./Ph.D. program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in May 2003 having earned my Ph.D. in July of 2001 working in the lab of Dr. Thomas Finger on the role of Sonic hedgehog and BMP4 in taste papilla development.

I grew up in Denver and graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at George Washington High School. For those of you who graduated with me, I have set up a mailing list to connect our class and to help coordinate reunion activities. You can join the list by clicking here. We had a 10 year reunion at the Wynkoop Brewery in August 2001. You can find out about the reunion by clicking here.

After high school, I went to college at the UCSD and was in Muir College there. I graduated from UCSD in 1995 with a B.S. in Molecular Biology.

My FamilyI am 28 years old and the oldest of five boys in my family. The picture here was taken in December 1999. You can see how much we all look alike. There's another picture of my wife, Rahbeka, on the entry page to this site. We got married in August of 1998 after dating for nearly seven years. Rahbeka is great, and I'm sure you'd agree if you met her.

During the summer of 2000, I lived in San Francisco and did research at the University of California, San Francisco. I have pictures of my place in San Francisco online if you'd like to look at them.

In October 2000, Rahbeka and I had a trip to San Francisco that was quite an adventure. The first flight of our trip, Denver to Los Angeles, had to make an emergency landing in Bryce Canyon. You can read all about it on this page.

In January 2002, my grandmother passed away at the age of 84. She had long-standing vascular problems and died about a week after suffering a significant stroke. She was a wonderful woman and meant so much to all of her (large) family. To honor her, I took pictures of her last few days in the hospice. You can look at those pictures - taken 1/24-1/27 - here.

In May of 2002, I won a radio contest, which was very exciting for me. Find out more about that here.

If you'd like to get in touch with me, you can send email to [email protected].
