Joe Gionti, born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, is a musical artist who has built a name for himself in the music industry through hard work and determination. In today�s music scene, which seems to be mainly dominated by overnight �pop idols� who are striving to be the �next big thing,� it is refreshing to find an artist like Joe who continues to create music not for the popularity, but for the love of it.
Now, there are a lot of good singers and songwriters in today�s music scene, but Joe is a bit different. He is not only a seasoned professional musician but he also produces all of his own music, arranges all of his work as well and takes a proactive role in the recording stage of his music. Gionti�s many talents coupled with his distinctive vocals and music-writing abilities show off the character of his originals.
Joe got his start in music at the young age of eight, consistently earning respect and getting the attention of music lovers and other musicians. Throughout his musical career he has played a major role in many different band lineups including Silent Rage, Suriva, Beckoning Silence and Three Lost Souls just to name a few. After years of playing with and forming different bands, Joe decided to pursue a career as a solo artists by writing, recording and producing his first solo album The Ripple Effect in 2006.
Joe embarked on this musical project without the backing of any major record company. Joe says, �I wanted to get back to the basics and create music for the fun of it. � His first solo album, The Ripple Effect has reached hundreds of thousands of downloads worldwide and his follow-up album, Another Place and Time is taking off just as strong. Joe is proud that he has reached a level of success that many musicians can only wish for. Yet despite his popularity Joe stays grounded, loyal and reachable to his listeners by personally responding to emails, answering letters, offering advice and help to others and remaining close to those who helped make him successful.
Today Joe enjoys a successful solo career by sharing his love of music through writing and performing. His contemporary pop-rock sound combined with his strong musicianship and meaningful lyrics creates music that many around the world enjoy. Joe owes most of his success to staying very much involved in every aspect of his career. From promoting his music and creating websites to booking his shows and staying in touch with his fans, Joe keeps busy but would have it no other way.
Joe�s ambition is not to become the next big pop idol or rock star. Joe says, �I�ll leave those titles to other people who want them...as they are often short lived anyway. I would much rather lay low and have many smaller hits over a long period of time than to have one major pop hit, only to vanish from the public eye the following year. Overnight fame and fortune is what kills most of today�s artists careers because once you reach the top of something, there is nowhere to go but down. Therefore, on my way up I would rather take my time and enjoy the ride a bit.�
