Well, this here show umm..happened. On the date indicated, Donald and I played an acoustic set at the Hamilton County Senior High School Bash in McLeansboro, Illinois, as "The Quadratic Equations". We had our initial "short" set, then later we played a longer, looser set. The first set was:
The Foo Fighters' "Everlong"
our very own "You'll Never Say"
Coldplay's "The Scientist"
and Outkast's "Hey Ya".
oh yeah, and The Darkness's' "I Believe In A Thing Called Love", unexpectedly. But as Conan said, "When a mob of girls asks you to do something...you don't say 'no'!"
I don't really recall exactly what we played or in what order we played 'em for the later set. Caleb Miller joined us on a few of the songs. Let's see, we did
Weezer's "Island In The Sun" (Caleb played guitar, and I just sang it)
Coldplay's "Yellow" (this was a Caleb song; he played and sang, Donald played, and I (attempted to) singarize backups on it)
Denis Leary's "Asshole" (of course, being at an institution of public education, specifically of the high school variety, the title word was omitted, i.e., "I'm an .....such an....sometimes I park, etc.")
umm...Michelle Branch's "Goodbye To You"
The PUSA's "Peaches"
Tom Petty's "Free Falling"
a song off MAUDLIN, "It's True"
uh..the umm...Jet..their song "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" (on which this one girl came up and sang. I had to tell her she might wanna change the words to fit the proper gender perspective...)
what else? oh Coldplay's "Green Eyes"
and The Pretty Things' "Over The Moon"
urm...I'm gonna pull out some papers to see if I've got any notes ...gimme a minute
hmmm
yeah, still lookin'
let's see here
I guess I didn't leave anything out...unless it wasn't on this here list of possible songs..alright well, here's Donald's little "ad" from before the show..it has all the necessary time/place info...oh wait, we might've done
Live's "Lightning Crashes", did we?? Oh yeah, and we did "Hey Ya" again, this time fast (normal speed)..
Hello, this is Donald updating Joseph's site. I thought I'd throw this little section on here to promote this little performance that Joseph and I will be...performing. Yeah. It's the little annual Winter Bash thing at my high school. Taint nothin' big buy maybe it'll be fun.
