What to look forward to from Joseph Davolt

UPDATED! Well, SLIGHTLY JILTED ideas seem to be coming together more quicklier than anything else...so...here's what it's looking like:

"World In Harmony", "World In Melody", "Bells", "Not Bells", "Cosmic Exploration, Pt. 1", "We Three Kings", "Doo Dah", "Geneva", "King All I Need I", "The Ballad of Ellis D. Downer", "Another Day Passes Boogie", "Cosmic Exploration, Pt. 2", "Stephen Thomas Erlewine".

Also, the prospects of a band album, with The Quadratric Equations/Independent Rock Company/The Love Squeegees/Peter Pan & The Lost Boys/Matted Spam/whatever it ends up being - basically, me, Donald, and Zac - are growing quite strong, so, that throws something in...a few other songs are being written, like "The Dove With Broken Wings", "Something To Do", a couple untitled bits..ona these days I'll take all these song parts scattered on peices of paper and weave one great flippin' song out of 'em!! lol..Also, there WILL be an album called A YEAR AND A HALF OF ST. LUCRE's TURMOIL. I don't know which prior title that will usurp...man, i dunno...maybe I'll take some LONGING songs, throw in some new ones, call that A YEAR AND A HALF OF ST. LUCRE's TURMOIL, and keep the song that are more important to the themes of LONGING for LONGING, putting it on hold 'til the resources are available for it...oh yeah, and I wanna do a DAVOLT SINGS DYLAN album....well, here's what was on this page before 3/16/04:

MAUDLIN was the beginning. I have been working on new material for upcoming releases. There are some songs written, a lot started, and a whole lot of undeveloped ideas. I've been writing songs lately for an album with a working title of LONGING. However, these songs are going to require something more, i.e. pianos and strings. Given their prominence to the sound I'm going for, until I can set something up, I really don't want to make recordings available. So, I've been considering using some older songs, and writing a few new ones to make a more "rock" album, with lots of electric guitars and the like, title under consideration being HOT STUFF. And of course there's the frequently on-hold project STU, a 'rock opera' about a high school student named Stu, and his classmates and such, a sort of satire of teen movies. Another plan for the future is SLIGHTLY JILTED. The title was the original 'working' title of MAUDLIN, but it now belongs to a collection of weird, mostly-instrumental concepts. I might just add this to the end of one of the others to make a '2 records on 1 compact disc' sort of thing, or put it at the end of whatever comes after these other three, as the same thing, like SLIGHTLY JILTED, PARTS ONE & TWO, part one being the more convential and two of course, the weird stuff previously described. Well, if you see one of these come to fruitation within your lifetime, consider yourself lucky! Email me:[email protected].

Some possible song titles for these:

Longing: "New Song", "Intento", "Natalia", "Linger Longer", "Is It Me? (or Next To Last)", "Unhappy Ending"

Hot Stuff: "Shark!", "My Mojo", "#76", "You'll Never Say"

Slightly Jilted: "World In Harmony", "World In Melody", "Bells", "Not Bells", "The Ballad of Ellis D. Downer", "Comsic Exploration"

Stu (or A Tale Of High School Heaven And Hell): "Overture", "Stu's Dream", "Good Morning (Part One)", "Not Another Day", "Sup?", "I Want To Love (Part One)", "A Girl From Out Of Town (Part One)", "Party Tonight", "Gonna Get Her", "Let's Go", "I Want To Love (Part Two)", "The Party", "A Girl From Out Of Town (Part Two)", "Come On, Baby", "I Want To Love (Part Three)", "Segue Of Love", "Good Morning (Part Two)", "Finale"
