Responsibilities: Manage all technical assets, plan equipment upgrades and life cycles, generate annual capital expenditure reports and budgets, disaster recovery plan (DRP), Sarbanes-Oxley compliance relating to IT and training. Supervises: one direct and eight indirect.

  • Designed and built a central machine room that dramatically improved workflow, flexibility and efficiency for the entire audio/video department.

Record Plant Studios - Hollywood, California - 1999-2003

Full service, high-end music recording facility that caters to the top performers in the music industry. Clients include No Doubt, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Kanye West, Bon Jovi and others. Employees: 35. Responsibilities: Oversaw all technical matters including determination of equipment needs, technical budget management, client and public relations, establishing standards and practices and keeping abreast of industry trends. Supervises: two direct and 16 indirect.

Accomplishments:

  • Identified specific equipment needs and upgraded out-of-date equipment, which improved client confidence dramatically and resulted in a sales increase of more than 25%.

  • Planned and managed a $1,000,000 upgrade and installation of SSL consoles in two rooms using innovative construction techniques cutting downtime in half and earning major awards for the facility.

  • Investigated and switched to an alternative Internet connection, which cut costs by 70% and created an additional source of revenue.

  • Developed a system of renting hard drives that helped offset a decline in tape sales.

  • Created custom interfacing equipment and modified existing equipment to meet specific specifications.

Senior Technical Engineer with Saban Entertainment, Senior Technician with Ocean Way Recording/Record One Studios, Chief Technician with Devonshire Studios, Technician Manager/General Manager with Real Time Audio, Bench/Installation Technician with Antech Labs, Technician with Coast Recording Equipment Supply and Bench Technician (part time) with Tower Grove Music.

Accomplishments:

  • Developed and built a cutting edge digital system at Saban Entertainment for presenting video sales demonstrations that was reliable, very easy to use, easy to understand, and could travel world wide without technical assistance, which increased sales potential tremendously.

  • Designed and built the first dubbing and duplication room for Saban Entertainment.

  • Developed new editing methods and equipment designed to maximize workflow, efficiency and profit.

  • Corrected a design flaw during the design phase of a transfer and duplication room that saved Saban Entertainment many hours of labor in a future move.

  • Designed and built a custom, digitally controlled audio mix matrix for Real Time Audio that responded to MIDI computer commands and was able to provide big-budget touring performance to client’s stage sound without added cost.

  • Purchased and refurbished used equipment for Real Time Audio that had brand recognition to clients and was on par with major touring companies.  This met the equipment needs of demanding clients, at a cost that was 50% to 90% below the cost of new equipment.
