| 1. Who wrote this book? Author is Unknown 2. Why was this written? Joshua tells how God helped defeat the Canaanites. 3. What do we learn about God? God will give victory to his people. 4. Who is important in the book? Joshua. 5. Where did this happen? The land of Cannan (Israel or Palestine). 6. How many chapters are there? There are 24 chapters. The Israelites have been circling in the desert now for forty years and God is going to give them the land. The book of Joshua speaks of their arrival to the Promised Land. Joshua sends out spies to explore Jericho. The spies return and Joshua leads the Israelites to Jericho where they march around the city blowing their trumpets. Miraculously God causes the city to fall at the feet of the Israelites. As long as Joshua was the leader the people served the Lord their God. |
