The closing of our Mexico project . . .
Working together with the school's Junior Red Cross, teachers, and students, the JVC was able to collect two large boxes full of sweaters, pants, skirts, children's clothing, pencils, erasers, markers, colored pencils, paper, rulers, stickers, toys and food. In the end, the boxes were overflowing with donations to be sent to Mexico.

Josai Volunteer Club students were involved in every step of the process. They taped the boxes, took inventory of the items to be donated and carefully packed each box to be sent. Below JVC students pose for a picture with the two full boxes of donations.

Students practice their English during each club meeting by learning new words, looking up unfamiliar phrases, and drawing pictures of things they may not know the word for in English. Each project we complete leads us one step closer to International Understanding.

JVC students always write thank you cards and notes to teachers and students who participate or make special donations to the volunteer club. In the picture below, students are translating a note on the blackboard "Dear Teachers and Students - Thank you for your help with our volunteer project . . ,"
On December 3rd, the boxes, along with a friendly letter to the recipients and pictures of the students who raised the most money for the project (featured below) were shipped off to Yucatan, Mexico !
