I was born in 1972 in Santa Marta, North coast of Colombia - South America. Yet very young, I rapidly showed interest towards music, especially afro-Caribbean rhythms. My father wanted me to play the trumpet or the saxophone - so I tried for a while - but what I really enjoyed was the sound of the drums.
In 1995, determined to make a living of my passion, I left the sunny coast and beautiful beaches for Bogota, the capital city.

Biography
There, I played with some of the greatest Colombian bands of salsa (Los Alfa 8) and traditional music (El Ballet de Colombia, Juancho Torres y su Orchesta), touring in the country.
I started to study percussion on my own, however supported by musicians and friends from my native town, who soon incorporated me in the local bands. Then, I went to Arts School to learn music.
