Dave - On Wednesday, for reasons that escape me, our next gues was voted out the house on the "Big Brother" show on CBS. Here to tell us what happened, the lovely Jordan. Dave - Welcome Back. Do you need a place to stay? Jordan - Cool. D - There you go. Why don't you tell me and the rest of the folks a little bit about yourself? J - A little bit about myself? D - Where are you from? J - I'm from Minneapolis. D - Minneapolis? J - Yes. D - Born and reared there? J - Not born, but reared. D - Where were you born? J - I was born in Virginia/ D - Oh, Virginia. J - Yeah. D - And you like it up there? J - Not really. D - You don't like Minneapolis? J - Not really. D - Oh, Minneapolis... J - I'm thinking about moving. D - Minneapolis is one of the twin cities, you know. J - Mn-hmm. D - Do you know the other twin city? J - St. Paul. D - Yes. D - You went to college up there? J - Mn-hmm. D - And you worked as an exotic dancer while you were in college? J - No. Where'd that come from? D - That's what people told me. J - No, I did. D - Oh, you did! J - I did. I did. D - For a minute there, I thought we had the wrong girl. D - How do you get a job like that, exactly? J - You need to be highly qualified, highly qualified. D - Had you danced professionally before, and this was just a different version of dancing? J - No, no D - How did you get the idea to become an exotic dancer? J - Seriously, I was dragged there by a boyfriend. D - That's illegal. Now, that's illegal. J - And I was really intrigued with it. I was wondering, what are these women's lives like? D - Right. And what are their lives like? J - Well, I'm writing about it. It's fascinating. D - You're writing, like a book? You're writing a book? J - Mm-hmm, Yeah. D - Pretty good. D - And what was it like the first time, you know, when you...probably, okay, you watch for a little bit, you had to watch and see what you had to do, righ? And then, the first time you actually did it on your own, what was that like? J - It was...I think you should try it. I think just try it. I can't explain it. D - Now, see that's silly. What...I mean, it must have been, you know, suddenly you're not doing it and then suddenly you are doing it. It must have been... were you frightened? J - I was frightened afterwards at what I had done. Yeah. D - And how long did you do that before you stopped doing it? J - Two years. D - Two years. And you used some of the money to help yourself get through college. J - Yeah. D - Yeah, Well, that's pretty good. And then, why did you want to be part of the "Big Brother" show? J - I thought that I was going to go on television and have this voice. I thought that I was going to be able to talk about my views, my opinions, and cause a positive change in society. D - Oh, come on. Really? It's CBS. You thought that was going to happen on CBS? J - Really, yeah. D - You were... J - I was a little deluded. D - You weren't dragged there by a boyfriend, were you? J - No. D - So, now, did you have audition to get in the "Big Brother" house, or interviews and stuff? J - Mm-hmmm, mm-hmm. D - What did they tell you when you went to the interviews? J - They were very impressed with my articulation, the fact that I was a well-rounded person. I was complex. I was a triathlete. They didn't focus a whole lot on the exotic dancing. D - Now, when you got in the house, did all of that change then? J - Yeah. Yeah, it did. D - Now, how many people were in the house to begin with. J - Ten. D - Ten people. And what was your impression of these people? Did you have anything in common with them? Are any of these people friends of yours now? Will you see them again when it's all over? J - Some of them will be acquaintances, I believe, but...I just thought, "Where did they find these people?" You know? I just... I don't know. I don't know. D - Like who? Was there somebody there that you were, I mean, felt comfortable with at all, or were they all just odd to you? J - I felt comfortable with the people, but they were so guarded and so concerned about their images. D - Right. Well they're on television 24 hours a day, and I think people would be nervous about that, you know. J - Right, but this is a reality television show, you know? You don't go on the show to be guarded. D - Right. J - And to protect yourself and to worry about getting voted off. D - Now, but there was booze. How did you get the...where did that come from? J - Oh, they fully wanted us to drink. D - Really? J - Yeah. D - That's irresponsible. Now, could... J - They provided us with alcohol. D - Now, did you have any contact with the outside world at all? J - No, none. D - Did you talk to the producers? Would they talk to you or anything? J - They would talk to us in the red room. D - And the red room that was... what was that? |
