"Throw your dreams into space like a kite,

and you do not know what it will bring back;

a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country"

        -Anias Nin

so i spent practically all day working on my resume.  i was sitting on the floor in sproul and opened up the daily cal. there was an ad for Teach In LA (i think it's kinda like Teach for America but it's restricted to LA). there's an info session tomorrow night and i decided - I WANT TO GO! i'm interested. it's pretty quick actually, the interviews (if you get one i think) are this thursday so basically you'll know what happened (if i got an interview or not) if you come back to my webpage in two days...

dude, i didn't think it would take so long to write up a resume...i gave myself 2 hours (it ended up taking about 5-6) and i got help from steve and daniel...thank goodness i have them as my neighbors...they're resume pros! thanks guys...(steve has a midterm and a case due but he still helped me...and daniel was busy writing valentines cards but he took time out too...) yay!

so here i am throwing my dream into space...i'm just gonna go for it.

you know what? i was keeping it a secret from pretty much everyone, but i was planning on applying for Teach for America.

are you wondering why i wanted to keep it a secret? well, because i'm pretty sure i won't get it. i went to the info session and dinner and everything and i just feel like i'm not someone they would want...

but i have come to the conclusion that it's what i want to do. i want to teach. so first i'm gonna go for this teach in LA thing...and if i don't get it i'll apply for teach for america...and if i don't get it i'll just apply for something else! and if i don't get that  then i'll be at the drive through at the jack in the box and i'll totally hook you up! i'll give you extra curly fries or something yummy...i'll even get you those jack head things for free! =) you won't have to buy a sourdough...

my friend at work was telling me about her roomate's friend who is a consistent ouija board player. she was telling me how her roomate was telling her about how her friend had made a ouija board herself and one day she decided to throw it away cause it was getting old and she didn't use it. then, a few days later, when she was in the garage, low and behold...there was the ouija board that she had thrown away.

and then my friend was telling me another story about her roomate and how she played it once and how at first they got a friendly little boy spirit and then the SECOND time they did it they got this angry man. she said the spirit was calling each of them by their own name and telling them to go out to the porch alone or to go to the kitchen alone...when they tried to end the game they said the pointer kept spelling the words "die, die, die"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. this is so scary i think i'm gonna cry. i can't believe i'm even typing this. it's just crazy...i'm not sure what they're doing but...i dunno...dude...spiritual warfare takes on a whole new meaning when you think of weirdo stuff like this, huh?

it was so cold today.

i drank a whole thing of coffee today so i was really high strung and hyper. it was really funny! me, mel and lillian were in my room for a little bit and i was being all weird and then i was playing the destiny's child song and you know the part where they sing "throw your hands up with/at me"? lillian was laying on her back on my bed and she was moving her arms and legs doing that dance move that they do when they sing that part...she looked like a roach flipped on its back with its arms and legs twitching...

ok. i gotta go and print out my resume. (my mom calls a resume a reh-zoom...even though i correct her again and again...she still says reh-zoom) haha!

=)
