"The supreme happiness in life is the conviction that we are loved."

        -Victor Hugo

valentines day. have you guys ever heard the story behind it? something about that dude st. valentine...

(it was also national condom day...ASK MELLANIE CHOI if you want more info, she was publicizing on Sproul today...)

anyways...did y'all read that quote? look above....read it one more time...

seems so simple, doesn't it? can love really be the SUPREME happiness? i mean, if we all have the conviction that we're loved...will that be our supreme happiness?

maybe.

i think so...insofar that God loves us. (i can't believe i used the word insofar...i'm pretty sure i didn't use it correctly either...haha!)

anyways...His love is unconditional.

love baffles my mind...it's something that i don't fully understand but have to look at in awe...i mean, the love a mother can have for her child (including animals...have you guys ever seen national geographic how the mama cheetah will do anything to save and feed her babies???) i think mother-infant love is just crazy...having something grow in your body, feeding off your own flesh and blood, then giving excruciating birth to a child who's cries only cease at the sound of your voice? wow. not to mention having the kid suck on your mammary gland...

and then there's the love a Father can have for his child...and the sacrifice that can be made for that unsurpassable love...

here's what Webster thinks about love:

1 a (1) : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties <maternal love for a child> (2) : attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers (3) : affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests <love for his old schoolmates> b : an assurance of love <give her my love>
2 : warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion <love of the sea>
3 a : the object of attachment, devotion, or admiration <baseball was his first love> b (1) : a beloved person : DARLING -- often used as a term of endearment (2) British -- used as an informal term of address
4 a : unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another: as (1) : the fatherly concern of God for humankind (2) : brotherly concern for others b : a person's adoration of God
5 : a god or personification of love
6 : an amorous episode : LOVE AFFAIR
7 : the sexual embrace : COPULATION
8 : a score of zero (as in tennis)
9 capitalized, Christian Science : GOD

i guess we should all be supremely happy. after all, we're lucky enough to have an everlasting conviction of being loved, right?

sometimes i'm stupid and forget ...maybe you do too..so, i'll remind you:

YOU'RE LOVED!
