| My Research Current Research I'm currently looking into two interesting things about Comets and Centaur type objects. These two projects are running side by side. The first thing I'm looking at are the biases which affect how we observe Comets, and how these biases affect our ideas of where Comets come from, and their distribution in space. The second thing I'm looking into is the behaviour of the Centaur objects in the outer solar-systems over time. These objects could be a transitional stage from a vast cloud of objects, called the Kuiper belt, which lies beyond Neptune, and those Comets which we observe as short-period objects. This work is being done using a Fortran based program called Mercury, written by Dr. John Chambers at Armagh. Back to my page. |
