A flag wraps itself around the flag pole after a brief gust of wind at the Soldiers and Sailors home in Erie. Times Publishing Co., Erie, PA.
Murphy's Law is alive and well. One of my early assignment in Erie was to find a cool picture of a flag for Memorial Day. So, it being a perfectly breezy day, I thought "no problem." The staff pointed me in the direction of the Old Soldiers and Sailors home in Erie. I found a line of 5 large flags, that were flapping quite nicely. But when I got out of the car, the wind stopped. So I got back in my car. And the wind picked up. But when I got out of the car, the wind stopped. This went on and on and on. Finally, I gave up and walked right up to the flag pole and looked up with my camera, thought, "Well, this looks kinda cool," and snapped a couple frames. Ran four or five columns on the front page for Memorial Day.
