At Jonik, we breed for temperament first and foremost. All of our German Pinschers are raised in our home, under foot with love. The German Pinscher is NOT a breed for everyone. Please visit the German Pinscher Club of Canada website for information and reputable breeders in your area.
Available Adults
Occasionally we have retired show dogs or breeders looking for "retirement" homes. Adopting an older dog is a very rewarding experience and everyone, including the dog, benefits. You will find yourself with a well mannered, housebroken, spayed/neutered and basic obedience trained German Pinscher. The GP finds a loving home without having to deal with hormones or weekend trips to go to "work". They can relax on your couch, watch TV and enjoy the rest of their days as a pet... something they've earned and deserve.
Jonik's About Turn
"Jade"
Jade was born Nov 28/06 and is looking for her forever home. After 2 big moves halfway across Canada (and back) and other big changes in her home, her family decided she was not coping well and sent her back. She came home Sept '08 a very confused and concerned puppy. She has since settled in very nicely with her sister guiding her every step of the way. Jade is currently training for her Pre-Novice title and while doing so, has proven that Flyball might just be her calling. Jade thrives on routine & structure. Although good with most dogs & cats, she would do better in a family where she can be the only 4-footed member. She seems nervous of small children and although not reactive, she does shy from them and tend to avoid contact. Some dogs just can't deal with little kids quick, jerky movements and loud voices - Jade seems to be one of them. Jade is a fairly quiet dog but will let you know if something is not quite right with a single yet deep bark. If you happen to be late with dinner or not in bed in time, be prepared to have her serenade you until you remember!
Jade would need a home that is fairly calm, quiet and ready to be loved unconditionally by a very sweet, cuddly but sometimes bull-headed girl. I would encourage anyone considering her to continue with her training. Most dogs love a job but Jade thrives on her weekly classes and the challenges they provide her. She's a thinking dog, a loving & caring dog. She is crate trained, housebroken and has lived in houses & apartments without issues.
All in all, she is a wonderful girl who needs a family to focus just on her. If interested in meeting her or just have more questions, please call me or send me an email.
