LITA

 

 Lita was diagnosed with Epilepsy in June '08. Her seizures have been brought under control but she is under strict observation by the Ontario Vet College in Guelph, ON. Although vets cannot say for certain if this is hereditary or not, Lita's offspring have all been sterilized as we wish this ordeal on no one. All JONIK puppies are doing well and no signs of epilepsy has been reported in any of her pups. There are those who still claim that Epilepsy does not exist in our breed. We can now honestly say they are wrong. JONIK will not hide behind this diagnosis. Lita is involved in a study with Minnesota University who are working towards a test to isolate the DNA marker to further help breeders and owners alike. I hope her diagnosis and struggles are not in vain. 

 

 

 

 


 Lita is now happily retired and enjoying
the good life . But that doesn't mean she's turned into a couch potato. Lita has become the newest and most effective form of vermin control for her new mom's garden. Groundhogs, rabbits & chipmunks (just to name a few) have all fallen prey to this girl proving that the GP's of today haven't forgotten what they were originally bred to do. 

After presenting Jonik Kennels with 2 wonderful, but very large litters, Lita is now reaping the rewards that are very much owed to her. She's finally the Queen of her domain and thoroughly welcoming her "only dog" status with her new parents, Sally and Frank.

Lita still entertains her daughters Jade & Zephyr on occasion. She has been known to give not-so-subtle reminders that she is still the matriarch and it isn't beneath her to put the kids back in line. 


 

Lita was Canada's top German Pinscher female in 2004 and finished #2 overall in Canadian Kennel Club standings for the breed for that year.
