Our Nursery Page

We conceived the second weekend in October, 2000. The baby was born July 7, 2001. We announced it to our parents December 19, 2000. We completed the nursery the previous weekend and we hadn't told a soul she was pregnant. We brought our parents into the nursery and let them figure it out for themselves. I had our digital video camera on a tripod behind the baby bed and got their reactions on tape. It was a lot of fun. What makes it even more fun is that my brother and his wife were also pregnant and just ten days ahead of us. My parents got their first two grandchildren almost at the same time.

We decorated mainly in Winnie the Pooh since Amanda already had so much. All we had to buy was the furniture--a chest, a changing table, and a bed. We got it at Storkland. It's a Generation Next set. The other things we did to the room were: frame some classic Pooh prints Amanda has had in a box for a couple of years, paint the ceiling to resemble a sky with clouds, and paint the shelves pale yellow.
