Him

Part Three

As sleep came over
To spend the night,
I was fearful
For what I might,
Just what I might have here to see.

The dreadful night
That I'd expected;
The fearful dream
of soul dissected,
My soul dissected by things unseen.

The dream to come
Was that of ease,
Of beauty, sun,
Of grass and trees,
The grass and trees that kiss and love me.

The kindest love;
the gentlest kiss;
The softest touch
In long time since,
A long time since was sleep so clean.
