Alderman, Jr. at the time of their marriage. I suppose he was trying to avoid confusion with John Alderman's father...Uncle Wash Alderman, whose name was George Washington Alderman.

His first marriage was to Lucinda J. Horton, and at that time he was listed as George W. Alderman. After moving to the Sulpher Springs District, he served as a Justice of the Peace and his name is found on quite a few Confederate Pension applications for men in that district. Also, Mary A.
