"My father had a sister, born in 1838, and the widow of a man named Frank Hurst, who spent considerable time with our family. She said that Elizabeth Bolt, wife of Elias was a German girl, hard working and industrious. She was noted as being a splendid cook as was her mother. (Letter written by John Alderman to cousin Mrs. Glenn Burrus on May 17, 1973.)" (Source: Jim Alderman).

Notes for LOUISA DOYLE:
According to John P. Alderman's book, 1850 Census: Annotated, Carroll County, Virginia, Frederick Alderman and Roxina were divorced in 1869. That same year, Frederick married Louisa Doyle. Louisa is listed as Louisa Soloman on the Carroll County Virginia Marriage Licenses--1842--1930. Her parents names are listed as J. Buriez Lzet and Isabel. I think her father's name is questionable due to the unusual name, and I also wonder what Louisa's maiden name was (was it actually Lzet or something else?). I would also like to know how Louisa came to have the surnames Soloman and Doyle.

In John Perry Alderman's Family Group Sheets, he has written " Louisa Soloman, 34, widowed, b. Rockingham, N.C. to B & I Dyel".
