According to Charles Darwin, on his theory of Evolution, things were evolved through adaptations and natural selections. On that note, we humans have our own ways of battling it out for survival. Relatively, people have to make decisions to be able to survive, and from that decisions things might be advantageous or disadvantageous, yet, people should deal with it no matter how small or big it is. In connection, people have there own favoritism towards anything they like, because probably in some ways it has  great impact on them or that might even shape there lives. I have here below some of my many favorite Icons and inspirations. Categorically, they are very celebrated, famous, rich, powerful and influential. But more than the fame and glamour, I adore them for their "character and beauty".

In my life I’ve always been a fighter, and it’s not an easy task to overcome great challenges, despite the victories, people still need to compete for the next race. I guess that’s what life is, to struggle. That’s why I love sports, it’s not just a recreation of winning or losing the game, but more importantly, it has a great sense of responsibility towards character building and it touches the heart of every person whether being an athlete itself or just an ordinary person.

I am an avid fan of his airness, Michael Jordan, I’ve watched him from his rookie days down to his final season in the NBA. He will always be the greatest basketball player to me. Notwithstanding his unmatched skills and achievements, this man had an amazing influence in his team, to the NBA, and to the whole face of the basketball world. And it is a fact now that after retiring from basketball, instantaneously, NBA has dropped its level of popularity among audiences and sports fanatics alike.

Another sport that I truly admire with is formula1 racing. This motor sport is about speed, performance and reliability. And one man will always emerge in the scene when we talk about F1, its Michael Schumacher and his Ferrari team. I like him for his determination and capability to win the race even without in the pole position. He’s a tenacious car racer, in an instant blink of an eye, he’s gone.

I also like Tennis, with Andre Agassi as my number one player, because despite of his age and acquired injuries, he’s still on the top seed and managed to play competitively.

How about Boxing? Of course, with the rise of our own countryman, Manny the “Pacman” Pacquiao, certainly, he brought some new level of excitement in boxing world. Our modern day hero, and a national pride, with his never say die spirit inside the ring and his remarkable skills as a boxer truly made him an icon.

“Music in the air tells me love is there”, I imagine life without music at all, I guess at certain point it’s dull, less romantic, less excitement, senseless, and it’s like eating a food in the absence of our taste. More so, without music this place on earth would be less fortunate, instead of harmony it creates conflict, instead of resolution it turns out to be dissolution. It’s the magic of music that softens our hearts, eases the tensions, to reflect on our inner soul, and somehow it helps us to show of what and who we are. Music is almost always been part of our daily lives, even without singing or performing it with own ourselves, we can hear it thru our neighbors, in the office, and almost all in the urban and rural places.

There are a lot of classifications, categories, and genre in music. Would you believe, almost entire of these genre’s are within the level of my appreciation. But still, it will always depend on my mood and the proper time and place to hear it. I guess its pretty obvious not to play or hear Metallica songs while you’re studying, same as playing classic Mozart songs while inside the disco house.

I'll start with the classical and instrumental music. It was during the renaissance period, that a lot of great geniuses and their works have flourished not only in science but also in music. Maestro Ludwig Van Beethoven, was a great musician, in spite of his handicap in his later years, for being deaf, he still able to wrote some of his greatest music. I love to play and listen to two (2) of his greatest piano sonatas, “Moonlight Sonata” and “Pathetique”.

Behind a good movie there is a good movie theme song, most Hollywood movies owed it to the brilliant musical composer, John Williams. Some of you might not familiar with his name but not on his musical scores. Surely, he’s the man who added color and dictated the tempo in the movies like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, E.T., Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Forrest Gump, and many more. Whenever I hear these orchestral pieces it rejuvenates my body and mental strength.

I’m an avid listener of Pop Jazz music. Some of these individuals and group singers are Hall and Oats, Swing Out Sister (SOS), Mike Francis, Claire Marlo, Basia, and many others. During my college years, together with my classmates we used to listen to New Wave songs and until now I still love listening to it. These songs are mostly hits from the 80’s like Tears For Fears, Fra Lippo Lippi, The Cure, U2, and some other 15-Minute famed bands. Rock Ballad music will always be in my list, it’s really nice to hear great combination of semi-loud and mellow music of artists like Sting and the Police, Toto, Dire Straits and Phil Collins.

When it comes to music, this industry may not evolved with the way it survives today, mainly because of the growth of the Love Songs. With its  great impact and deeper meaning to the audiences and listeners, it’s sometimes stands as our shoulder to cry on, a bridge in the union of two hearts, a means towards sincerity, hope, and love. And who will ever forget the undying classic love songs of Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Elvis Presley and The Beatles. And with the contemporary love songs from Madonna, Patti Austin, Barry Manilow, David Pomeranz and many more. They're all really such great artists.

I’m not yet done, coz I still have some several genres to mention. One of them is Rock and Roll, and the Queen for me will always rocks the world with there timeless hits. Heavy Metal, before I enter my college I acquired several collections of tapes from Metallica, Nirvana, Guns and Roses, Sebastian Bach and Van Halen. From time to time, I also enjoy listening to R&B music especially when I’m in the bar. Reggae, when I’m in the beach. Trance, when there a social gathering. New Age music, when I’m alone.

Considering the tremendous influence of music in our lives, significantly, I myself cannot live without it. But with the looming war of music industry against piracy is another story to tell I’ll just leaves it with the authorities (good authorities).
