miscellaneous images

masamune shirow

These two images are by Masamune Shirow, a manga artist's pen name who illustrates in anonymity. He is a humble artist though his works speak volumes, and his many fans can attest to his fantastic ability. These images can both be found in his second collection of painted works Intron Depot 2: Blades
He has illustrated and written several manga titles many of which have been released in the US. Some include : Black Magic, Appleseed, Dominion, Orion, and Ghost in the Shell (which was also made into an award winning animated film).

hiroshi kajiyama (Halfquarter)

halfquarter is mr. kajiyama's online persona I assume ^_^ and these two images here are from his website which you can check out by clicking on the banner below. He (from what i understand) has done the character designs in the popular Shining Force games on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, as well as the third installment of Shining Force on the Sega Saturn and Shining Wisdom also on the Sega Saturn. He captures the typical anime female in a sensual way unlike many other artists out there. Be forewarned his site has nude images of anime characters but tastefully done. go at your own risk. also the page I have linked here is in Japanese, but there should also be an English version of his page on the site as well.

rodriguez

I personally don't know much about this artist, except to say he has some extremely stylized character designs and has some aire of mystique and fantasy in his imagery. I really don't have much else to add, i think the images speak for themselves. again, you can visit his site by clicking the link below. there is no nudity (as far as I know), but be warned that the page is in Japanese.

edged tools

the Escalator is the name of the strange looking knife above and is by REKAT, which stands for Round Eye Knife and Tool. You can click on the image or the abbreviated name to go to their site for more information. I will be getting this particular knife very soon. it has very unique attributes to it. it's design allows it to be used closed as well as opened. during certain maneuvers, the blade can actually be opened by blocking and parrying the attacker's blow. also unique to the knife is the fact that in it's various stages of manipulation, it can be used to "escalate" as it's name implies, the amount of force used to deter an opponent from attacking. when closed it can also be used as a Kubotan of sorts, allowing joint and nerve strikes that can be quite painful. lethal force is not the only option with this knife.

the knife on the left is a custom one, by Allen Elishewitz, a talented maker out of Texas. clicking on the link or his name will take you to his site and where he can be contacted. I actually owned this particular knife at one point, but traded it for a Tom Anderson titanium folder which was much more usable and a little more elegantly designed (four Abalone inlays on each side). Click here to see it and some others The others in the picture are (from the top) a Microtech Tanto SOCOM, a Chris Reeve large Sebenza, the Tom Anderson Stingray; you can see more of his knives at Arizona Custom Knives, and finally a Columbia River Knife and Tool/Ed Halligan P.E.C.K.

the knife on the right is by Benchmade Knife Co. out of Oregon. clicking on that picture will take you to Benchmade's company site and their forums. they stopped mass-producing this particular Bali-song (I own the top and bottom knives in the picture on the right), in favor of custom ground and worked ones, by the likes of Allen Elishewitz and his peers. This knife can be had if one has the money, around $120-$160 getting a new in box condition one, through secondary markets. you can try to want ads at Bladeforums.Com or check out any of the various auctions online. be weary of eBay's auctions as they will occasionally take down auctions they feel are not legit.

the knife pictured below is my "daily carry" knife, a Chris Reeve Sebenza
with a false edge ground by Allen Blade with a Benchmade Bali-song

hong kong films!

one of the greatest martial arts movies of all time, Once Upon a Time in China (Wong-Fei Hung) is pictured below. this shot is from the dvd insert. it stars jet li, rosamund kwan, and (somewhat ironically) yuen biao as li's student. another great film showing off classic jackie chan fights and a great story, is Drunken Master 2, starring the mac daddy jackie chan. pic up soon...

some of my artwork

the first picture is a drawing I did several years ago when I was in highschool for my school's "literary and arts" magazine, it's called "Antiquity". that's the title in the form of two chinese characters on the right and that's my name in chinese on the bottom. the other one is a more recent picture i did in my figure drawing class at Clark University, where I'm currently enrolled. it's a organizational line drawing to be specific :)
