05 September 2004 - It's been a very strange summer. I met my current girlfriend (the afore mentioned artist chick) at Yellowstone, I had a sustained disaster with CWU in terms of paperwork and EVERYTHING else, and I ended the summer in much the same way as last summer: absolutely broke. I don't have a place to live when I get to college (which is soon), and I'm already looking for a different college for 2005-2006. I guess I'm just confused. On the other hand, my girlfriend rocks, and I'm still playing trumpet (duh), so nothing's really terrible, either. Hey, whatever.
21 May 2004 - Not much time to say anything. I'm working in Yellowstone, at Old Faithful. Having a lot of fun. Playing when I can. That, and I dig artist chicks who just happen to have dark, curly hair and be a year younger than myself. I really dig them a lot. More later.
07 March 2004 - Well, spring break has officially begun. It started with a bang, you could say: my room mate decided to leave town a day early, after telling me that he'd jump my car on Saturday morning, when I (that's a stressed I) was supposed to leave for my own home. Thankfully, there were still people there, so I am able to write this from home. So the lesson from that little episode has several parts: my room mate will learn not to cop out on people (he's done this type of thing with other people, apparently); people really are great; and I need a new car that will actually work, instead of draining the battery over and over and over. On a side note, I hate cars.
My recent addition to the website, the story "Pop", received an A for a grade, so I am happy for that. However, I feel that I need to revise it. Hell, a lot of people feel that it needs revision. I am also realizing that the best writing is like jazz improvisation: it's spontaneous, engaging, and tells a story (duh). Of course, writing still has its rules, just like jazz improv. And just like jazz improv, I guess I still don't know all the rules, though it's fun to learn on the fly.
As a final note, spring break needs to end now.
01 March 2004 - 24 credits is murder, trust me. I've had very little time to do anything except schoolwork, lately, and while I enjoy that, it's nice to know that spring break is in a week, and I'll be able to do a bit more for this site, as well as a bit more for my own advancement in my many mores.
I was officially accepted to Central Washington University, finally. Woohoo! I'm really excited to go there, and really can't seem to wait. However, I'm not finished with Powell, just yet, as I'm going to be missing two credits (that's right, two fingers). So, what I've decided to do is become a summer conference RA (that's the official term), so that I can stay and finish my associate's degree, and go to Central Washington with plenty of classes under my once-again shrinking belt. So I'll be spending another summer in Powell, with better lodging, and cleaning bathrooms 40 hours a week at what is most likely minimum wage (though don't quote me on that), with free food and lodging, and plenty of time to practice and write. And that's exactly what I need. A girlfriend would be an added plus--dare I say, luxury?--but not something I'm going to try and get.
13 January 2004 -
It's a new year, again. Not a whole lot happening. I *am* going
to CWU, finally, in the fall. I sent in the application fee tonight,
and I see no problems in getting in ('specially with my grades; I like
college just because of them). I did the Young Artist Competition, and
took the place of "Alternate"; congratulations to Michelle on being first
and foremost. Her talents deserve it.
I am still hoping to get my own Conn Vintage
One, and would greatly appreciate donations toward that. Additionally,
I'm still working on the guitar, and piano, and I've also discovered the the
clarinet is a new attraction (though I think that will be soon replaced by
the saxophone, once I get to that instrument). Also, I'm on my 7th room mate in a year and a
half (this is getting ridiculous, but whatever), and get along with him
pretty well. That aside, money is tight, as always, but I'm making it.
You can call me a definite success story in the Rapkoch/Hogg (even Maddox,
maybe) lineage. If you don't. . . well, then. . . don't.
03 September 2003 -
The official launch of the new site, replenished and ready to go. Oh,
and it's up, too. The new school year is starting, so I'm kind of
surprised I got it up tonight. The webpage, you sicko. Anyway,
all the new material is up, and stuff; I don't have any pictures, yet, but I
shall. I just have to collect them. Speaking of, if you know me,
send me a picture of yourself, as well as something saying it's alright for
me to use your picture. You know, so you can't sue me. And
please, nothing naked. Or, at least, don't expect it to go up if it's
naked or lewd in any way. Thus, let the games begin!
Note: by the way, not all the links are
up, but that's because not everything is actually functional, or exists,
yet. Sorry. . . |
You're probably still pretty dumb if you click here at all Sponsors? What?
