Prophetic Peace

With the kingdoms under protection from Aleosh, Midgard thrived. The East and West were united by trade routes, and soon Toresc traders were a common sight in the Western and Northern cities. The South was still separated by the ocean, and would stay so for another three centuries. Metal weapons became much more refined and superior, coming from the undergound forges of the Dwarves, and the Elves introduced the war bow to the Nornir.

Slowly, the Jotun began to disappear from the Nornir cities. They trekked to the far South, a huge migration that slowly took place of decades. There, they sailed the vast Imshae Ocean, and settled on the island that would become Jotunheim. Now the Prophet Aleosh was there to protect the Norns, the Jotun were no longer needed. In their travels to the Southern lands, they left gigantic temples and other huge monuments, to show Midgard they had been there.

As the Norns began to get more civilised, they began to shun the stranger of the sub-species. The Faeries and Sprites left the bustling, crowded cities for the calm forests and meadows, while the Gargoyles hid in the eyries and cliffs of the mountains. The Elves and Dwarves were tolerated, but just barely. Prejudice against non-Norns was rife through the Nornir lands, and many implored for Aleosh to do something.

In the Old Year of 2102, a horde of bloodthirsty Grendels numbering in the millions swept towards the Northern Kingdoms from the icy mountains of the Far North. The Kings begged for Aleosh to save them, but she refused. They were doomed, unless they banded with the Dwarven and Elven armies to drive them back. Reluctantly, they agreed, and the combined forces drove back the baying green legions.

The Ettins still stayed secluded from society, continuously training their fighting skills in their huge monasteries. Those who had seen them said they seemed to be preparing, but they did not want to say what for. Then, two years later, in the Chamber of the Prophets, the Arch-Prophet Aleosh spoke out to her disciples. She told them of a great evil which would destroy Midgard in three thousand years.
