September 2001 Archives
SEPTEMBER 27, 2001 - Mirror Sites ...Lots of Mirror Sites
If you can't get through here today, I have now created many mirror sites. Hopefully, you will be able to get through to one of them.
These sites will be updated for the next few days.
Sorry about the troubles today, but, since the pilot was on yesterday, this site's traffic has skyrocketed. I guess that means Jolene was a hit last night!

SEPTEMBER 26, 2001 - Denver Post Review: Jolene Blalock Steals Scenes
Here's what the Denver Post said about Jolene (read it here):
And so, with an uncooperative Klingon on board and a snippy Vulcan Sub Commander (Jolene Blalock) stealing scenes, it's time for takeoff.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2001 - Ain't It Cool News: "Blalock Steals the Show"
Herc, from Ain't It Cool News, had a review of the Enterprise pilot (read it here). Here's what he said about Jolene:
Herc, is it true Jolene Blalock, who plays the Vulcan hottie T’Pol, is a stiff in the acting department?
Dude, Blalock steals the show! The tiny actress brings unexpected authority and gravity to the expedition, and is especially good at disparaging her shipmates’ occasional lack of grace under pressure. Like Spock, she’s perfectly fearless, and never less than amusing as she endeavors to dial down her disdain for too-human crewmates.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2001 - Cinescape Review
Here are some of the things Cinescape said about Jolene and the Enterprise pilot. To see the article, click here.
However, the greatest asset of this new Enterprise is unquestionably its cast.... Word of mouth on Jolene Blalock was not good in previous months, but she acquits herself admirably. She may not be Meryl Streep, but she gets the job done and it doesn’t hurt that she’s one of the most stunning actresses to grace the small screen since, well, Jeri Ryan.
And... (Note: this talks about the T'Pol/Tucker near-nude scene. Small spoiler.)
In one scene that could have easily descended into camp, Tucker and T’Pol share a decontamination chamber. Overall, the scene works as the two talk about their mission while a sexual undercurrent simmers between them. Unfortunately, the scene doesn’t go far enough given the fact that both actors remained clothed as they lather up, contributing some unintentional laughs as they reach under each other’s clothing to apply the gel. Obviously, both should have been naked (of course, this isn’t NYPD BLUE and they wouldn’t be shown nude, but rather have it implied). The scene would have been better served with the camera skillfully avoiding any real skin, and thus pushing the envelope in a way that would truly differentiate the series from previous TREK’s. Given the STAR TREK franchise’s importance to Viacom, however, there often is a tendency to play it safe. Yet, the less conservative the new TREK can be in taking risks, both stylistically and with its content, the better off it will be.
And... (Note: small spoiler)
There’s a great moment where Archer confronts T’Pol talking about how much the human race has grown in the last 100 years; wiping out hunger, war and poverty. We can only hope it’s this philosophy which infuses the show with its energy in the future. If we’re very lucky, let us hope STAR TREK, which has been so prescient in showing us the future in year’s past, will also once again show us that the real future of the human race is made in a world united by peace and not war. Clearly, ENTERPRISE is a show that has all the ingredients to live long and prosper.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2001 - Vanishing Photos
As could be expected, on Enterprise's US debut, this site is getting heavier than normal traffic. So, don't be surprised if this gives some of the photos on this page problems today. They might be popping in and out all day long. But, other than that, this site should be fine.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2001 - My Review
For me, my local channel shows Enterprise Thursday night. So, hopefully, I'll be talking about it on Friday. I won't spoil the story on this main page. If I talk about the episode itself, it will be on another page. I don't know if anywhere else will be doing this, but, my focus will be on T'Pol, and the job Jolene does playing her.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2001 - More Reviews
I've read a lot of reviews today about the Enterprise pilot. Some of the reviews that are mentioned at Trek Today, and, some that are not. Too many to name them all. But, basically, they say that Jolene is really beautiful. Nothing negative about her at all. They say they didn't like Voyager, and were afraid that Enterprise would be as bad, but, they liked the pilot. This is a good summary of the reviews.
SEPTEMBER 25, 2001 - Nando Times Review
The Nando Times did a review of the Enterprise pilot. (And, thanks to Trek Today for announcing this!) To see the article, click here. Here is what they said about Jolene:
Fans of Capt. Kirk and the original "Star Trek" will want to beam aboard this ship.
... The pilot episode features an angry yet intelligent conflict between Archer and his Vulcan science officer, Sub Commander T'Pol (the gorgeous Jolene Blalock). He even tells her what she can do with her Vulcan cynicism.
"I love this relationship," Bakula said. "The business with Spock constantly fighting with Bones (Dr. McCoy) - I always loved it." The late DeForest Kelley, the genuinely nice guy who played Bones, loved those scenes too.
And...
There's another reason to beam aboard. Fans of ex-Borg Seven of Nine on "Voyager" (Jeri Ryan) will see the same curves - physical and intellectual - in T'Pol. Like Leonard Nimoy, who played Spock, Blalock understands the need to hint at the emotions T'Pol tries to hide. Both she and Archer are stubborn, but they can learn from each other.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2001 - AskMen.com Update
AskMen.com have updated the Jolene section since I've last seen it (again, to see it, click here). Actually, it's not a bad feature on her now. Nothing new, but, not bad.
Here is something they added I have to comment on:
As for personality, let's just say that she likes to walk on the wild side (an understatement if there ever was one). You aren't likely to see her trotting around Star Trek conventions (unless the ratings for her show are in the toilet), she still sees the series fans as nerds, she might even call them the hated "Trekkies." Don't fret though; that will likely change once she realizes the cult status she will reap.
I don't know if Jolene has ever said some of these things herself. If she has, I haven't seen it, and, I've seen a lot of interviews with her. This could be the article writer stretching the facts.
For what it's worth, she has run herself down in the past, saying she was a "geek" growing up, and using "dorky" to describe herself now. Normally, when she makes wild comments, she's using humor, not anger.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2001 - Return of the Archives
Sometime today, all of the News Archives will return. This time, each month will have its own page.
Now, all of the photos on the News Archives pages might not be back today, but, in the next few days, every one will return. Then, I'll start working on the return of the photos pages.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2001 - Think Yellow
In the near future, I'll have something here concerning Jolene and Yellow. Yes, Yellow.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2001 - AskMen.com
AskMen.com have up their feature on Jolene, in which she is Actress of the Week. To see it, click here.
It seems to be photos and information about Jolene that this site has already shown you. Of course, they are not the only site doing that. Most sites that run features and articles these days on Jolene are using the same information. If their site has something new, I'll let you know.
They asked this site to be part of a program in which we put up a banner for them. Then, they'd grade the site. They'd look at it, and decide how good it is. That's the part of all of this I don't like, so, I'm not taking part in the banner program. This whole grading of sites idea is something I've never been fond of.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2001 - News of the World Article
News of the World had an article about Jolene (to see it, click here). Here is what it said:
"Phasers on Stunner"
CAPTAIN'S Log, Star date 2001. Spock's replacement is behaving very oddly and appears to have grown breasts.
Also I have developed a strange desire to kiss him. It is extremely illogical...
Things will never be the same on the Starship Enterprise because the new resident Vulcan in the latest series is a bit more than a chip off the old Spock.
Not only does T'pol have the trademark pointy ears, but there are rather raised areas on this alien's chest too, belonging to gorgeous actress Jolene Blalock.
Jolene, 26, arrived on the Star Trek bridge as a Vulcan vixen after producers decided it was time to boldly go for a new image—and beam up some totty.
And her behaviour on the first day of filming would certainly have had the show's original Vulcan, played by Leonard Nimoy, arching that famous eyebrow in shock.
"I was shaking my little booty when the director came up to me and said, 'Ahem, Vulcan's don't really shake'," says Jolene.
So she is doing her best to be emotionlessly Spock-like as T'pol—while pulses race among her male colleagues.
'Luck'
The magazine model was thrilled to be chosen for Star Trek: Enterprise, a series to mark the sci-fi show's 35th anniversary.
It will be shown on Sky One in January and is about the Enterprise before the days of Spock and Kirk.
As a fan, Jolene couldn't believe her luck when she was given the role of second-in-command to Enterprise Captain Archer, played by Quantum Leap star Scott Bakula.
"I grew up watching the original series and Spock was always my favourite," she says.
"Now I'm playing a Vulcan too—but different to Spock. She's feline and works with a testosterone driven team."
Not that they'll have much chance to klingon to this career girl. "I love acting, there's nothing like it. It's better than sex," says Californian beauty Jolene.
Doubtless cold fish Spock would have agreed. Shame he couldn't have appeared alongside her.
Then we might have heard the immortal line as he introduced T'pol to Captain Kirk.
"It's the wife, Jim — but not that you'd know it."
SEPTEMBER 23, 2001 - Vulcan Fashions

Here is another new image from the Enterprise pilot.
Wow, those Vulcans really know how to dress, don't they?
SEPTEMBER 23, 2001 - WireImage.com Photos
WireImage.com has up some photos of Jolene and Edward Furlong taken at the Paramount Theater Enterprise cast screening on Sept. 20. They are above.
Thanks to Trek Today for announcing this!
SEPTEMBER 23, 2001- Entertainment Weekly Review
Entertainment Weekly has a review of the Enterprise pilot (thanks to Trek Today for announcing this!). To see the review, click here.
Here is what it said about Jolene (it starts talking about Vulcans, then T'Pol):
One of them is played by Jolene Blalock as a slinky but chilly Vulcan subcommander named T'Pol, a ''science officer'' who is this series' designated sex symbol -- its Seven of Nine, with a look of ''X-Men'' superhero-sleekness to her body-hugging uniform. Unlike some performers who've applied the Vulcan makeup, Blalock doesn't just let her pointy ears do the acting: She has a slyness running beneath her Vulcan glare that will probably stand her in good stead aboard the ''Enterprise NX-01.''
Of course, this being a ''Trek'' enterprise, the show also has its share of portentous, silly dialogue, whether it's T'Pol stating the obvious -- ''Space is very big, Captain'' -- or Bakula blowing a good old-fashioned gasket over T'Pol's attitude: ''Take your Vulcan cynicism and bury it with your repressed emotions!''
Dialogue notwithstanding, this is the first ''Trek'' spin-off I can imagine appealing to both Trekkies and nonfans of this pop-cultural institution. I won't say ''Beam me up'' because, thankfully, the ''Enterprise'' folks don't utter that cliché themselves; instead, I say ''Count me in.''
SEPTEMBER 22, 2001 - Lots of New Enterprise Footage Online

Zap2It.com has up lots of new Enterprise footage. Lots of it.
Above is a photo of T'Pol taken from some of it.
Thanks to Trek Today for announcing this!
SEPTEMBER 22, 2001 - Elvis is in the Building

On Thursday, the 20th, Paramount had an Enterprise screening. Here is a bit of how Star Trek.com described it:
Last night the Paramount lot was buzzing with excitement as the cast and crew of Enterprise, along with invited guests, watched the premiere of the upcoming series on the big screen in the Paramount Theater. "Broken Bow" — the 2-hour pilot which launches on UPN next Wednesday, September 26 — played to a packed house, with the crowd overflowing into the nearby Studio Theater (the original, historic screening room on the lot).
Jolene looked happy to be there. And who is that with her? That's not the boy from the Terminator movies, is it? Edward Furlong, all grown up? Is he just a friend? Or maybe, her boyfriend? Hmm... I hope not. He'd be a very Mickey Mouse boyfriend to have. (Sorry. As soon as I saw that shirt, I just had to make that joke somehow.)
Personally, I was hoping that if Jolene doesn't go for the best choice for her (a certain Canadian web site master), she'd date someone very famous. Like George Clooney. So there'd be lots of photos of her with him in the press, that I could use for this site.
Say, Jolene, I hear that George Clooney has a nice Donald Duck t-shirt. Might want to check it out!
And, remember, Jolene, I'm only joking. I don't want you to use your Thai-boxing on me because of what I've said.
Although, that might be fun...
SEPTEMBER 21, 2001 - Scifi.com Review
Scifi.com has a very positive review of Enterprise. Here's what they said about Jolene (to read the article, click here ):
Break-out star Blalock is more than a little reminiscent of Seven of Nine. However, she's not just a carbon copy. She is more than suited to the task of being the antagonist in the group.
And...
That's not to say that Enterprise is perfect. There's only one strong female character (T'Pol), and she's wearing a skintight cat suit.
SEPTEMBER 21, 2001- Another Maxim Photo

Here is another photo of Jolene that Maxim have up at their site.
SEPTEMBER 21, 2001 - More Maxim Interview
Here is some more of the interview Jolene gives in the October Maxim Magazine. It, and photos of her from the magazine, are now up at Maxim Online.
Where you’ve seen her:
As science officer T’Pol on the UPN’s Star Trek prequel series Enterprise.
Surf’s tough:
“Surfing is such an amazing concept. You’re taking on Nature with a little stick and saying, ‘I’m gonna ride you!’ And a lot of times Nature says, ‘No you’re not!’ and crashes you to the bottom.”
SEPTEMBER 20, 2001 - Maxim Interview
Here is some of the interview Jolene gives in the October Maxim Magazine. Besides this, she also mentions being a geek growing up, and "cheesy 1960's science fiction".
Thanks to the people who provided this material!
Note: This interview is from Maxim, and a bit racy.
Have you had any run-ins with fans yet?
They come out of the woodwork in strange places. I was visiting a friend of mine at the hospital where she works, and when her Trekkie coworkers heard that I was doing ENTERPRISE, they were, like, "We only want the best for you. Don't fear us. We are a kind people." I was sitting there going, "Uh, nice to meet you."
Who would win in a showdown, T'Pol or VOYAGER's shapely alien life form Seven Of Nine?
Oh, pshaw - T'Pol! Of course, I have to admit that I never really watched VOYAGER, so I can't make a comparison. I can say that judging from the press we've done, alot of people are asking that question. A hot chick versus a hot chick. I don't know.
So by then you were a trouble maker.
I was an acidhead and a pot smoker. There was this one time some friends and I were ditching off campus at lunch. We didn't make it back in time, and school officials found us smoking weed in a van around the corner. I was so stoned that when they started taking names I said mine was April June. It didn't even dawn on me that was two months put together.
When did you think, This sex thing is pretty great?
Well, I love when I sort of come to and I'm on the other side of the room, sweaty and breathing heavy, with bottles and ash trays tipped over everywhere. I'm, like, "What just happened? Oh, yeah, I got laid. Gotcha." What I don't like is the... element of surprise. You know, seeing the goods for the first time. I can't go around pants-checking guys, but it's really important. Check the equipment before you fall in love.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2001 - Cinescape Interview, Part Two
Here is Part Two of what Jolene said in the latest Cinescape magazine.
The series also stars .... and Jolene Blalock as the Vulcan Sub Commander T'Pol, an austere but sensual Vulcan science officer whose job is to "oversee" the crew's progress.
"I seem to suck the air out of the captain's hankering for adventure and I don't mean to do that," says Blalock of her character's inclination to lock horns with Archer. "It's just that you can be zealous, crave adventure and want to go boldly where no man has gone before, but there's also protocol. There's a way to go about things. So really T'Pol is the voice of reason; she's the voice of experience; she's the voice of responsibility. And usually, in the midst of all this joy and thrill of adventure, the last voice you want to hear."
SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 - October Maxim Photos: One More Try

Photos in general had a hard day at this site. Here, again, are these two photos that have been appearing and disappearing from this site, all day long.
To see more October Maxim Magazine photos, click here.
The photos were posted by Vaughanster to the Yahoo Club: Jolene Blalock. Thanks for doing it!
SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 - Site Problems Fixed; Thai-boxing Works!
Hopefully, the problems the site had today, and a couple of times in the last few weeks, are fixed now. And, hopefully, the site will be stronger than ever. The photo archive pages are not back up at the site yet, but, hopefully they will be in the next few days.
Jolene does Thai-boxing. It must work for her. So, that's what I used on the Geocities computers that were giving me problems. Did that ever fix them fast! See, you can learn a lot from Jolene!
SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 - Site Problems
I've taken down the photo links, and the photos on this index page, because of over usage problems the site has had today. These problems will soon be fixed.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 - October Maxim Photos

SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 (updated twice) - Mirror Site
Geocites has cut down on the data transfer it lets a site have. Or, so it seems to me, from what they've told me. They say this site is very popular. And, the reward is, when it's too popular, they shut it down, to give it a break. Great idea, guys! They say they are shutting the site down for an hour, but, they normally don't. It's more like 5 minutes when they do it. (Except for today.)
I've created a mirror site. If the main site is ever down, go to this address:
http://www.geocites.com/jolene_blalock
The name is almost the same, so, it's easy to remember. The only difference is the line between jolene and blalock.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 - AskMen.com
AskMen.com have contacted this site, with the information that Jolene will be AskMen's Actress of the Week on September 24th. It will feature 3 pages with an up-to-date bio, a commentary and a Fan Site section.
When this is up at their site, this site will link to it.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2001 - Jolene Interview at Trek Galaxy.com
Lots of Jolene interviews certainly have been coming out lately. Trek Galaxy.com did a wonderful one with her. To see what they have up, click here.
I have also put this interview up on this site. It's so big, I made a page for it. To see that, click here.
One note: it does have some spoilers, so, be careful!
SEPTEMBER 15, 2001 - Jolene Interview at Star Trek.com, Part Three
Here is the final part of the transcript of Jolene's video interview at Star Trek.com. It picks up exactly after Part Two of the interview.
Jolene: "I mean, there are no limits. Gene Roddenberry, his whole concept was, there are no limits. And that's why people love, and they grasp, to the show, is because...um... it's so much bigger... there is something bigger involved here and ... and, so...um ...being a part of that... being a part of extending that history... extending that legend... is amazing. It's amazing."
Interviewer: "Well, we wish you all the luck. And... ah... have fun."
Jolene: "Thank you."
SEPTEMBER 15, 2001 - Jolene Interview at Star Trek.com, Part Two
Here is the transcript of Jolene's interview at Star Trek.com, Part Two
Interviewer: "How do you feel...ah... now that the first episode is in the can? How do you feel it all went?"
Jolene: "Brilliantly. And... and...and... I'm not saying that on the aspect of.. um...just the way it turned out, but just the fact that I'm so proud of the writers, Rick Berman and Brannon Braga... the way they are staying so true to Gene Roddenberry's original idea. His original concept. Which is not just about good versus evil, it's about taking...um...taking humanity into the dangers of illusion or... ah... nurturing our imagination. It's about something bigger than all of us. And...and... humans are so... so much more capable than...of more... more... more than ...than what they yet understand."
SEPTEMBER 15, 2001 - Jolene Interview at Star Trek.com, Part One
Here is the transcript of Jolene's interview at Star Trek.com, Part One
Interviewer: "Have you had any tips from any other Vulcans that preceded you on how to...?"
Jolene: "Unfortunately, I haven't ... unfortunately I haven't... but if I had my choice of talking to anyone it would be definitely, no question, Leonard Nimoy. Ah... and if I was to ask him any question, it would be... um.. ah...what does it feel like to know you are going to live forever, long beyond your days? How's that?"
Interviewer: "Perfect."
SEPTEMBER 15, 2001 - Jolene at Star Trek.com

Star Trek.com has put up a good section about Enterprise. Video interviews with the actors, photos, information about the characters, and more to come.
Now this is the type of thing we like to see!
Above are some Jolene photos from there.
SEPTEMBER 14, 2001 - Jolene in Cinescape Magazine, Part One
The latest Cinescape has two covers. One with Enterprise, and one with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Inside, it has an article about Enterprise.
From that article, I'll repeat what Jolene said. Here is Part One
"I'm an avid fan of the original Star Trek", says Blalock. "I grew up on it. There was such utter loyalty between Spock, Kirk, and Bones. They would give their life for each other. I love the way they worked together."
As such, the actress is pulling from her repertoire of favorite classic Trek episodes to draw inspiration for her character. There is the obvious influence of Spock, but Blalock actually turns to a lesser-known character for source material.
"I'm playing the character as T'Pau", says Blalock. "It's not written that way, but I'm playing it that way. T'Pau was a Vulcan High Priestess in one of my favorite episodes, 'Amok Time'. This is completely a personal choice; it has nothing to do with the writers. It just made an impression on me, and after getting the part, that's what I wanted to portray."
SEPTEMBER 14, 2001 - Cult Times Article
Cult Times Special #19 has a Star Trek feature (click here to see it). At their site, they have the following quotes from Jolene (although, we've seen these quotes before):
"I'm an avid original Star Trek fan," Blalock attests. "I grew up on it. My favourite was Spock, so it's really strange for me. I would sit there with my dad and my brother watching the show, watching the relationship between Captain Kirk, Bones and Spock. My favourite relationship was between Bones and Spock because it was just like this animosity and this love-hate relationship, but overall, there was such utter loyalty between all three of them. I love the way they worked together; just the way Bones would be like, 'You green-blooded fool'. Somewhere in The Next Generation I got lost, but that's the advantage we have here, this being a prequel. For all the viewers who got lost along the way, this is the beginning. You can get right back on and not miss a beat. As far as being prepared for what's coming, I'm just using something that works for me, and that's called denial."
Thanks to Trek Web for announcing this!
SEPTEMBER 13, 2001 - Update
I have some quotes from Jolene from a magazine I now have. I still have to type them up. They will be on the site in the next 24 hours.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2001 - Sun-Times Review
Phil Rosenthal, the television critic for the Chicago Sun-Times, has a review of some of the new fall tv shows. Here are the short comments he had about Jolene and Enterprise. If you want to read the full article, click here.
Premise: The latest "Star Trek" series is a prequel to the original 1960s drama starring Bakula as the first Starfleet captain, circa 2151, when all this stuff was brand new and a little scary. Blalock is a sexy scientist with that now-familiar cold Vulcan logic and pointy ears.
Promise: We haven't seen the pilot, but it would seem to have pre-sold stories and a built-in following.
Quote: "Wow. Great first question." --executive producer Rick Berman, after being asked why there are no permanent gay or lesbian characters on "Star Trek" shows.
SEPTEMBER 12, 2001 - A Heartbreaking Day
Yesterday was certainly a horrible day. When I think about all the people who were murdered in the United States yesterday... it's just heartbreaking. As sad as it makes me feel, I can only imagine how much pain and sadness the people who were directly affected by this must be feeling. I send my best wishes and sympathies out to them.
Yesterday, this site was updated before I heard about the actions. I was supposed to update the Sept. Archives after updating the main page, but, I then heard about this, so, I didn't do it. That will be done later today.
Enterprise has temporarily stopped filming because of this horrible event.
Half of all planes that were in the air when the U.S. closed its airports, and were headed to the U.S., came to my Canadian province of Newfoundland. About 80 large planes. About 13,000 people. I guess most of these planes came from Europe. If you know any of these people, they are fine, and should be leaving here within a day or so.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 - New TV Guide Photo
Between TV Guide and Maxim, they seem to be having a contest to see who can show more photos of Jolene! This is a piece of a full cast photo that is in the new TV Guide.
Thanks to "Praetorian Guard" for scanning this! The full version of this photo is now at Trek Today.
SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 - New Photo Coming
In the next 24 hours, there will be a new photo with Jolene at the site.
SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 - Large Spacesuits Photo

The UPN Enterprise site, which has been growing at a very slow pace, now has this Enterprise photo up. It's a larger version of one they had before (and this site showed before).
SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 - Vote At Maxim
Make sure you go to Maxim Online, and vote for which one of the 4 new Maxim photos you'd like to be their October cover. They are going to pick the cover, not us, but, voting is so much fun, why not do it anyway?!
SEPTEMBER 8, 2001 - Other New Jolene Maxim Photos
Here are the other new Jolene photos. She is on the cover of the October Maxim Magazine. One of these 4 new photos will be the cover.
SEPTEMBER 8, 2001 - More Jolene Photos Coming
There are two more new Jolene photos that will be coming to the site in the next 24 hours. Check back!
SEPTEMBER 8, 2001 - Beautiful Jolene
SEPTEMBER 8, 2001 - Great Jolene Photos Coming
I have some excellent new Jolene photos coming to this site in the next half hour. Check back!
SEPTEMBER 8, 2001 - Bakula Interview
I know this has very little to do with Jolene (although, her name is mentioned in the article), but, there is a new Scott Bakula interview out. If you want to read it, click here.
SEPTEMBER 7, 2001 - Extra TV
At the site for Extra TV, they did a feature on the Maxim Fall TV photo shoot that Jolene was a part of. Here is what they said about her:
Longboard babe Jolene Blalock guarantees male viewers of UPN's Enterprise won't be channel surfing. She debuts as a “Star Trek” alien and can be seen now on the covers of TV Guide.
A 'Star Trek alien'? Yes, heavy research was done on this article. They must have spent all of their research budget on this one.
SEPTEMBER 6, 2001 - joleneblalock.com
When this site hit the Internet on May 11, I considered using the names joleneblalock.com and joleneblalock.net for the site. After I checked on the names, I found that both of them were taken. As I remember it, no sites were then on the net for either name.
If you go to joleneblalock.com now, you will find that there is a site up. But it has nothing to do with Jolene. It is just a collection of banners that lead to sexy babe sites.
If you go to joleneblalock.net now, it says that the site is under construction. But I have big doubts that the site that will be built there will have anything to do with Jolene. I think (but I could be wrong, since I'm going by memory) that the same company bought the .com and .net names.
It's too bad that Jolene's name is being used this way. It would be nice if one day, she is able to do something about it.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2001 - The Full Picture
Here is the full two page shot of this photo we only saw half of before. Not a perfect job on the scanning, but, I'm no pro! This is from the September Maxim Magazine.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2001 - Jolene "Bad Match"?
A report at Ain't It Cool News says that changes are coming to the T'Pol character. Here is what was said about it by Hercules (to see the article, click here. Note: After the T'Pol piece, there is another one about Enterprise plotlines, so, be careful if you don't want to see that).
Not As Vulcan As Previously Thought
Word from several highly reliable sources indicates that “Enterprise’s” token Vulcan – like Spock before her (and after her) – is going to get in touch with her emotions. Waifish stunner Jolene Blalock, who plays subcommander T’Pol, is said to be a bad match for the stoic ways of the Vulcanians, so her character is said to be getting a big dose of our human ways (if ya know what I mean) and will soon see value in things beyond pure logic.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2001 - Bakula Talks About T'Pol
About last week, Scott Bakula gave an interview to journalists. Some of it was reported here. Star Trek.com now has a version of it up. Below is what he said about T'Pol. Note: Some of it was reported at this site before, but not all of it.

Q: You mentioned the Kirk/Spock/McCoy dynamic, what is the big dynamic for the Captain so far in this show?
SB: The big dynamic is that I have a female Vulcan science officer. My character is not fond of Vulcans and never has been. We're at cross-purposes a lot. Also the captain is a pretty emotional fellow and her rational approach really bugs me.
Q: Do you have a sense, so far, of how the relationship with the Vulcan woman will work out?
SB: I'm trying! She's the same. They just don't change, those Vulcans! Her character actually has changed a little bit so far, in her desire to help out and not totally be a stick in the mud. We're trying to acknowledge that she's at times helpful. She's talented at what she does. She's a talented science officer. Am I hanging out with her? No
It's an interesting question, I think about it a lot, because the great thing about Spock was that he had this half-human side of him that you could relate to — you could hang out with a little bit. And she doesn't. I don't know how that will play out.
And...
Q: How was it to meet the cast for the first time? First impressions?
SB: Everybody's very different in the cast. Which is great. You look around to see, just to get a sense of who's going to be what kind of person. Ultimately, when you're doing a series for a long time, that comes into the show so much. You've got a Vulcan — who's not half-human, she's Vulcan — so she's limited in a lot of things; and you've got this other doctor guy we don't know what he is yet — so you're just tying to get a sense of who these people are. I know what the hours are, and you live with them for a good portion of your life. The vibe from the very beginning is very good. There's just a great energy there; everybody's been extremely enthusiastic about being here, extremely enthusiastic about the show and the work. And they did a really good job of casting; it's an excellent cast.

SEPTEMBER 4, 2001 - Another Maxim Photo
Here is another photo of Jolene that was in the September Maxim Magazine.
This is a nice photo. Maybe even nicer than the other photos from this photo shoot, if that's possible!
SEPTEMBER 4, 2001 - Maxim Page
I'm going to start grouping together some of the information on this site. My first attempt at this is the creation of a Maxim Words and Photos page. It has the photos and text from Jolene's recent Maxim appearance. It will soon have the text from her first Maxim Interview, too.
To see the page, click here.
SEPTEMBER 3, 2001 - TBO.com Article
TBO.com, which is a Tampa Bay media site, has an article about Enterprise. Click here, if you want to see it.
It does have some comments about Jolene (although, they are nothing new). Here is what they said:
The top Vulcan on the show is Subcommander T'Pol, played by Jolene Blalock, a 65-year-old who doesn't look a day over 25. Blalock says she's modeled after Spock (Leonard Nimoy).
``But while he seemed to have a Satanic look with those pointed ears, I look like a pixie,'' she adds.
SEPTEMBER 2, 2001 - Shapes Photos
Here are photos of Jolene from the new "Shapes" Enterprise pilot promo available now on the net.
SEPTEMBER 2, 2001 - T'Pol in Spacesuit
SEPTEMBER 2, 2001(Updated) - New Photo, Article Coming
I have a new Jolene photo (not the one above) that hasn't been at this site yet. It, and another good one, will soon be here.
Plus, an article with a little from her will soon be here.
SEPTEMBER 2, 2001 - Entertainment Weekly
Yesterday morning, I put up the Enterprise photo below. It comes from the Entertainment Weekly web site. Above, is another photo of T'Pol from Entertainment Weekly. It comes from Trek Web.
Here is what Jolene said in the article at the Entertainment Weekly web site (and click here to see it at their web site):
Not to mention sexier. Joining Bakula on the bridge is Jolene Blalock as subcommander T'Pol, a Vulcan scientist so icily hot, Spock himself would be biting his knuckles and leering like a Ferengi (''It's standard issue Vulcan wig and ears,'' she says, revealing her beauty secret). The pilot even has a steamy shower sequence featuring Blalock and Connor Trinneer, who plays engineer Trip Tucker, slathering biodecontamination jelly all over each other's bodies
SEPTEMBER 1, 2001 - T'Pol with Crew
SEPTEMBER 1, 2001 - Larger Photos
On a page at Cinescape, they have up these larger T'Pol photos, plus some non-T'Pol Enterprise ones that were featured in Starburst Magazine recently.
