October 27th, 2005 Harriet Miers Withdraws Nomination
for Supreme Court Harriet Miers is saying no way to her Supreme Court Nomination. Just in time to take some of the media sting out of the indictments about to be handed down for aides in the Bush administration. I was never impressed with her and apparently no one else was either. BUT! She is not a Right Wing Extremist from my estimation. I can't imagine the Democrats will be pleased with the next nominee. I am positive I will not be. Bush is loyal to his perceived constituents if nothing else. There is still a battle brewin' here people. I for one would rather have someone whose primary concerns are not overturning Roe vs. Wade, but someone who is logical and has an understanding of Constitutional Law. I don't want a Constitutional purest. I am Apache/Hispanic so you will have to forgive me if I don't give much credence as to what the forefathers would have wanted. We are advancing far beyond what we saw 20 years ago let alone 220. There are technological advances coming that will make Roe vs. Wade's ethical questions pale by comparison. We can either squelch Science & Technology, which will work as well as the "War on Drugs" or understand that some people are going to make choices that make others uncomfortable with those advances. I have heard the arguments that Roe vs. Wade was bad Constitutional Law. I can agree with some of those points. It has just not been enough to convince me that a government (Federal or State) should be writing laws in the first place about what a woman does to her body. Watch out America. You are about to get what you voted for.
October 27th 2005 Denver Bronco OL Dwayne Carswell in Auto Accident or We Must Protect this House! Category: Sports Denver Broncos Offensive Lineman and occasional receiver of TD passes was in an accident today. He is in intensive care. I hope the "HOUSE" makes a speedy recovery. He has 12 years under his belt and has been a TE in the past. He is a memorable member of the Broncos. Needless to say he is out for the season, but I will not count him out. I hope he can step on the gridiron for one more season. Today I make my return to Jokers
Jests. I was inspired by no other than Alex Baldwin the "Actor". I
read his post What
Happened to the Party of Lincoln and just had to respond. I don't know if
he will read it or if The Huffington
Post will even post it. They are clearly a left wing BLOG, but I am optimistic.
Baldwin on the other hand is just another squeaky wheel that wants grease but
refuses to help the car get to the mechanic. He wouldn't even give directions
unless he knew there was going to be a camera waiting to photograph his arrival.
I am not optimistic about his future. Unless South Park creators Matt Stone
and Trey Parker make a sequal to the funniest movie of 2004 Team
America. I just have to pay a little homage to Trey and Matt and Alec Baldwin
by posting the lyrics to a song you may have not have heard from the movie.
The song was nearly at the end of the credits and It was not on my copy of the

October 27th, 2004 Possible new species of dwarf sized human found.
It looks like a new genus of homo has been found. No not the modern kind. This is homo as in sapiens. Homo floresiensis, or Flores Man was discovered over a year ago and is estimated to be about 95,000 to 12,000 years old. The kicker is that the group of prehistoric humans were around the same time modern man was running around but they were also dwarf /hobbit sized. Yep, little tiny almost humans, stuck on an Indonesian island called Flores all by themselves. All while modern man were building fires, hunting, starting to use agriculture, and even using written symbols um I mean cave paintings. The species are not directly linked to man so it would be interesting to know if the two species ever met. Now this is still in the theory stage so don�t go trumpeting any horns for the Theory of Evolution. It does seem to be a significant story of our globes past. One to keep an eye out for in the future. Unless you think the devil put the bones there to throw us off the scent of heaven. Check it out in detail for yourself. Story Links
Election 2004 My Voting suggestions for 2004 Presidential Elections, the City of Denver Elections, and the State of Colorado Elections
NATIONAL ELECTIONS President of the USA - Bush (Republican) Can�t see Kerry as a decisive president. In these unstable times I would prefer to have a president who does not waver in this nations desire for peace. Yes, we all want peace. Sometimes in my neighborhood in order to be left alone one must show that one will defend himself. I see the terror threat as just that. Right now they know we will defend ourselves. I don�t think Osama�s Lama�s will feel the same if Kerry gets in and will be more apt to get uppity again. We all know an attack will likely happen again in these United States. I want the attackers to understand there will be repercussions for that act. Unless President Bush gets a commanding lead in the next week I will vote for him. This Election is too important for me to 3rd party it right now other wise the Libertarian Presidential candidate Michael Badnarik would have my vote. Bush is no Fiscal Conservative and has spent way too much time in Bed with the Religious right for my taste. COLORADO ELECTIONS Senate seat - Richard Randall (Libertarian) I will vote Libertarian when I can. This is as good a time as any. Coors or Salazar? Nah!!! House Seat - District Seat 1 - Roland Chicas (Republican)
If you are a Republican in Denver. You are a lonely soul. Democrats have held this seat for my lifetime. This election will prove no different. I will vote for Roland and watch him lose.
State House of Representatives, CO, 8th District - Abstain
No viable candidate for me in this election. Rosemary Marshall is running for her seat back unopposed.
COLORADO BALLOT ISSUES
Amendment 34 - Construction Liability = No
Why? More laws and more laws are not what I want. I would think the only beneficiaries would be the lawyers. And I have only found one lawyer I liked. And it wasn�t cause she liked to argue.
Amendment 35 - Tobacco Tax Increase = No
I have never fallen for the �Tax the Other Guy� Mentality. Especially when I am the other guy. This will do nothing to help anyone except to put I higher tax burden on the lower class. People smoke for a reason. It relieves anxiety. It works but is highly addictive. I know it and do it. I am responsible for my own actions. This is America. I should be allowed to do with my money as I see fit with reasonable taxation. This is not reasonable. This is extortion and Social-engineering on another step towards making cigarettes illegal. Which we know works so well because you can�t get drugs in America anywhere right? Right?
Amendment 36 - Selection of Presidential Electors - Undecided
Both sides of this issue have good arguments and I May not come to a conclusion on this till crunch time.
Amendment 37 - Renewable Energy - No
Another case for government sticking their noses where they don�t belong in order to appease the Meanie Greenies. Free market will dictate the most cost effective/environmentally safe methods of energy. The environmental movement has enough support to assure us that we will head in the direction of cleaner more efficient fuel. I have no problem with that unless they try to mandate it. That's exactly what this is. You can�t force a company into discovering something or using something if it will lose them money. It makes no logical sense.
Referendum A - State Personnel System - No
The idea of a few people getting to decide who gets government positions without testing... Sounds like a good way to get your friend a job even if he isn�t qualified.
Referendum B - Repeal Obsolete Constitutional Provisions
- Yes
Get that old shit out of there. Should be more of this and a lot less new laws being made.
DENVER BALLOT ISSUES
Referendum 4A - FasTracs - Yes
I know, I know, This goes against my taxation policy but in this case I feel we really need it to alleviate some of the congestion in Denver. C�mon folks we have the 3rd worst traffic in the Nation behind the no brainer Los Angeles and the number 2 contender San Francisco/Oakland Metro area. That means we are worse than NY, Chicago, Washington DC, and people are leaving those cities to move here. We have to do something and these routes are along major arteries in the city. I have to say this is a yes.
Referendum 4B - Reauthorization of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District - Yes
Again this is against my taxation policies but I think out culture facilities pay for themselves with tourism dollars brought in that are not necessarily spent in the cultural centers. We have our museums, zoo, library system, and Art/Theatre District very highly rated for a city our size. Tourism isn�t our number 1 resource just because of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Denver needs to play to the strengths we have. We are one of the major stops in Flyover Country. Let�s keep it that way.
Referred Question 1A - Police Monitor -YES
A yes, but just barely. I grew up in Westside Denver and I have had contact with too many poor excuses for human beings that had a badge protecting their own perverted sense of justice. I realize all cops are not bad but it is too easy to become disillusioned with what I am sure began as honorable reasons to serve and protect. Someone else besides themselves should investigate when the cops shoot a man in bed with a can of soda. How would you feel if I stole something from you then my sister said she investigated the matter and found nothing wrong? Yep I would be a bit suspicious too.
2 Girly Men Attack Author/Columnist Ann Coulter 2 Quasi-Men were arrested on Friday October 22nd, 2004 in Tucson, Arizona. The two tough guys interrupted a speech by conservative Author Ann Coulter by separately trying to hurl a pie in her face. Coulter was too fast and avoided both men and their respective pies getting only a small amount on her left shoulder. Coulter must have seen them running on stage where she was standing behind a podium answering questions. She gave a short gasp and took immediate steps to dodge and separate herself from her assailers running back and exiting stage left. The two perps were caught as they tried to exit stage right. Isn't that ironic? They were arrested and booked on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and assault and on felony charges of criminal damage. Boo's for their classless act and cheers for their immediate arrests were heard from the crowd. The speech was sponsored by the UA College Republicans so I doubt they could have gone far.
At the time of this posting I don't know or care about the Political reasoning behind their attacks. I will stick my neck out and assume they are Left Wing Eco-Terrorists debating the issue the only way they know how... With physical acts instead of intellectual debate. I have seen Ann Coulter on Fox News numerous times and find her refreshingly upfront. She is a little too Party biased for me at times but I agree with her on many issues. She has 3 NY Times Best Sellers and had a private practice as an attorney in New York City. She is beautiful, opinionated, and intelligent enough to make most men very nervous in her presence. You can tell she likes to talk and I am sure she would have debated these men anytime, anyplace. Instead of trying to persuade any of the numerous people in attendance to their cause, they decided to take the low road with a cheap theatrical stunt. Uninspired and not funny.
William Zachary Wolff and Phillip Edgar Smith, both 24 years old and from Arizona might in some demented way feel proud of themselves for their inane protest. This time though they picked on a lady both too quick witted and fleet of foot to fall for the same old tricks from an eroded activist mindset.
