| Round 16 Matt - Alexander Mogilny, RW, Toronto: This man once scored something like 73 goals in one season. Won't happen again, but it shows that his scoring touch is never to be forgotten. Was awesome in the mid-90's EA Sports NHL games along with Pat LaFontaine on the Sabres. Mike - Tony Amonte, RW, Phoenix: I love it when recently traded star Italian players are drafted. Stefan - Dave Andreychuk, LW, Tampa Bay: He looks like an oaf, but his knack for scoring in front of the net is more than any oaf could dream of. Climbing up the all-time NHL goal chart very quietly. Phil - Kim Johnsson, D, Philadelphia: Flyers play good D. Me hate Flyers, but make pick anyway. Rob - Bobby Holik, C, New York Rangers: Why did this man get paid $9 million a year? The Rangers would pay Riley at least $2 million a year, I swear. He should give them a call. Not a bad pick so late, though. Could be a great pick. Riley - Jaroslav Modry, D, Los Angeles: People usually type L.A. How often do you see it typed out in full? Not often. Good pick. Joe - Mikko Eloranta, LW, Los Angeles: Ah. Los Angeles. City of Angels and Smog and Mikko Eloranta. G - Milan Hejduk, RW, Colorado: G is kicking so much ass in this draft. Almost as much as me. Winners: Everyone's a winner in the Maryland Lottery! Losers: Most of the ACC in football. Ugh. Round 17 (Round of positivity, enlightenment, and respect) G - Wade Redden, D, Ottawa: Good last pick for a very good draft. G's swell, and he's been my friend here the longest. He's lived through Scout and dealt with "G-Xing" from Murach. What a saint and trooper. God love G. Joe - Mike Sillinger, C, Columbus: Could have been worse. Joe's a good guy, he's a winner in my book all the time! He always lets me eat his food and stuff. It's a beautiful thing. I'll always be there for Joe, be it in battle or pig racing or whatever - he's my homeskillet. Riley - Mark Recchi, RW, Philadelphia: Riley trusted my advice. What a guy! My roomie, so reckonize! Rob - Martin Havlat, RW, Ottawa: How can you hate Rob? You can't hate Rob. Me - Marian Gaborik, RW-LW, Minnesota: STEAL OF THE DRAFT, but I dropped him due to getting Pallfy in a trade...should have dropped someone else. Great pick though. I like me. Stefan - Kimmo Timonen, D, Nashville: Stefan has the heartiest laugh you'll ever hear, and he out of all the people living on Madison Street, he gives the best piggyback rides. Mike - Darryl Sydor, D, Dallas: Can't hate Mike either. Not possible. Loves Twisted Metal: Black and got a 1600 on his SATs but never once does he brag about it. He's a real ace in my mind. Matt - Yanic Perreault, C, Montreal: Best faceoff guy around, and Matt was my favorite Hagerstown 3 guy besides G and Ade of course, plus he is one of my two friends within my major (by my immediate estimate). Journalism! Winners: All managers in my hockey league are winners in my eyes. Losers: No time for losers, 'cause we are the champions...of the world! Final Thoughts: I think that me, G, Matt and Mike have the best teams, in that order, and one of us should win it all. If I had to pick one, I'd say...mmm....me. I also think that the NHL on ESPN needs great commercials like the NBA on ESPN has. I also think the "Cyborg2000" joystick I got from the charitable folks on Madison Street should net be at least $10, if not, be of use to someone. I also think Vanilla Coke is really good, and so is Pepsi Blue, but not as good as Arun would let you believe. Arun should have been in this league. Ah well. Those are my final thoughts. Godspeed. |
