| Joe: Riley cant watch the receiver pool go untouched any longer. Oh. It already was touched? Well he couldnt watch the Marvin Harrison pool go untouched for any longer. I have Harrison #1 on my receiver list. Faulk and Harrison. Its the start of something special. Phil: I could tell what was botherin Marvin. Actually, nothing bothers him. Certainly not double coverage. Sweet pick by a former roommate. The WRs are going where they probably should so far. Joe: I get swept up in the Colt-o-mania. This pick is stupid. Stupid stupid. Why would anyone take Edgerrin James here? Ill tell you why. This happens to fantasy managers every year. He was #1 on my list, and I still questioned the pick while making it. Then I had the thought: Why did I make this damn list if Im not gonna follow it?. So I took him. Im not happy, but I took him. What a bastard he is. I dont want him. Yes I do. Hes awesome. Damn it, I knew Id get stuck with a decision like this. Phil: Oooh. The Edge. Not the U2 guitarist. The RB. The one who still might not be back to his old self this year, despite what some in the media say, and he might not ever return to his old ways. Joe knew this was a risky pick when he made it, and he immediately started questioning it. This is officially where the draft gets interesting. Joe: Take a look at the years Fred Taylor gets injured. Every odd year since 1973. Now, I usually dont follow odd and retarded statistics like that, but Id feel a might bit silly if he got hurt this year. No one forget Mr. Taylors tru e colors. Still a good pick. He has the talent to be a solid #1 back, but it is certainly a risky pick. Phil: I dont have to tell you about Freddy T.s deal. This pick is iffy, tricky, and I typed the first part of this sentence about a week ago. But you know Freddy T. Joe: Good pick. This was my alternative to the Edge. Im not sure how I decided that James is better than Dillon. Dillon would be a great asset. Its a good thing Arun has him. At least for 2 weeks. 2 weeks and hes given up on the Dillon feelin. Its an interesting trade thats gone through, but I would love to have Dillon. Phil: Corey Dillon be chillin' like a villain, illin' like Bob Dylan. But he is a Bungle. Despite his Cincy-ties, he's a top back worth taking somewhere in this area...but Arun traded him after two weeks. I think he got the worst of the trade, but then again, Riley is a crafty GM. We should have all seen it coming. Joe: Is the thumb OK? Have the Rams figured things out? I wish this pick wouldnt have gone to Stefan so early. It could have been agonizing to watch Warner stay on the board through each pick, only to pass on him and hope hell be there later. I personally think Warner will be OK, and I strongly considered taking him with my 3rd pick before the draft happened. Phil: K-Dogg is still my boy and all, but things are just too hectic with the Rams. Even before the first week of the season, I thought this was a bit early for the two-time MVP. A few rounds later, well, that's just fine. Not like Stefan was at the draft anyway. |
