| No way in hell do I want Laverneus Coles to be my #1 receiver. G's all star team is slowly getting less impressive. Three names come to mind: Kevin Johnson, Darrell Jackson, and Johnnie Morton (my babydady). Morton is primed, Johnson is a consistent pick, and Jackson is a great receiver going into his early non-rookie phase where all receivers explode. I don't feel that tight ends are worth enough to warrant this early a pick. Gonzo isn't as dominant among the TEs as he once was. He's still at the top, but he's not so far at the top that he's worth a 5th round pick, in my opinion. The difference between a great TE and a good TE isn't as big as the difference between a great WR and a good WR. That's the main reason I don't get TEs early. I start my Brees ploy around here. Bummer. Johnson was my backup plan for this round. This is a good pick. Don't have much to comment about, so I'll rant here about Yahoo Pagebuilder. It just saved my 4th round over my 3rd round, because when you click on a button, but pull away and let go, it still acts as if you wanted to do the original thing. I tried to stop it, but no. Not on this day. So you guys read (past tense) a recycled version of round 3. To my dismay, unlike in other drafts, no one yelled out "Plax!". Maybe they were distracted by Qudanny's sheer and unfounded hatred for Burress. Maybe they were too occupied with the recent opening of the tight ends chapter in the book that is our draft. I think the real reason is that everyone felt it was time to sit and ponder what a great guy Joe is, and dedicated one minute of silence to me. Oh no! My secret plan is foiled! I recently discovered that he gets like 700 return yards, and is worth more than normal! He is right under David Boston in my rankings. Of course, I wouldn't take him near Boston, but I value him near Boston, and hoped he would fall to me at 57 or 64. For those you who don't know, that's how to draft. At least he didn't get the crown jewels.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH That's right, he's my 4th receiver, after Moss, Harrison, and Owens. This man gets 1000 yards of returns! That's worth the same as 400 extra receiving yards. He's already pretty decent as a receiver. I probably ranked him a little high, but I never planned on taking him that high. I just wanted to make sure he stood out in these later rounds Good pick here. Extra bonus points for the surface area of his ears. He could shelter a family of weasels (an inside shot at Phil for his possible recent loss) under them. For some reason, I had thought Fiedler did better last year than he really did, but I was mistaken. It must have just been that there was such a shortage of QBs in our league, he was golden. Some crazy (it seemed at the time) trade went through with him Don't like this pick. Dilger's gone and Ismail's here, along with the Edge. Anyway, we all thought whoever gave up Fiedler got an incredibly good deal, but it turned out to be a pretty good trade. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it was between Phil and Justin Goldstein (our favorite representative of the Jewish population; I don't know any people who know as much non-skill position football as him). Oy....I had my sights on my 13th or 25th ranked players for this WR pick, and ended up with my 50th ranked player. I was pissed. I guess I'm happy with Jackson as my second receiver, but Mason could have looked like such a steal for me. The power went out at the house somewhere coming up soon. This was followed by 2-story sprints up and down from the basement to the top floor. Not amusing at the time. I think I would have considered one of the rookies (Portis or Foster) around here, but if not, then Travis Henry. I don't like Hearst this year, because I heard he's gonna be splitting carries with Kevan Barlow. I actually have Barlow ranked a tiny bit higher, because I think he'll be the main guy by the end of the year. Here's one of the guys I don't trust, but I've seen talked about in all the mock drafts. I didn't want to take him, but apparently this is a very good pick. Especially because his name is two letters off of the former BYU running-back. Staley is one of those guys who quietly gets solid numbers. Damn you, Ade. He always makes fun of me because I "luv Henry". Part of a plan, I suppose. I thought I'd be able to get Henry next round, so I picked Jackson. Get ready for a run of disappointments to me, in the next few rounds. You dirty bastards over there used what you learned from my other drafting, and fucked me. Winners: Ade, Oleg, Arun, Joe, Phil, Stefan, Danny, Jason, Mike Losers: G, Howard, Pokey Bigger losers: Bujustin |
