| This is a pretty good pick for this late in the draft....He found himself a starter. Sort of. You'll notice that a lot of people are worth 1 tier point. That's because there are certain cut-offs of people I didn't want to be stuck with. For example, I wanted to have all four of my receivers by the time Peter Warrick was gone. The running-back cutoff was Mike Alstott. I didn't want anyone past him. Therefore, anyone past these guys aren't even researched. They're just thrown in at the end. This is a really good pick. He might be huge. Probably not, but this is the 14th round. This is where you're supposed to go for things like this. Of course, he will do something. Everyone says Lamar Smith is terrible, and a mini flash-in-the-pan. I have no choice but to believe it, much like the hype surrounding Fiedler and Brady...wait a second...We are through 2 weeks so far, and I would bet that they're both in the top 20. By far the best of the backups....he's almost guaranteed to be the starter by the time we get to, let's say week 7 this year. I had Mack last year, and he was huge. I can't believe Jason got Fred Taylor and not Stacey Mack. The karma police are hot on your trail, J. Diddy. Anyway, Mack isn't much special, but he's likely a starter on a team that can't really pass. Unfortunately they can't really run either unless Taylor's there. STEAL OF THE DRAFT!!!! Not really. I don't even have them ranked that high. I think they'll be good, but you can never tell at all.....AT ALL .....which defenses are going to be good. Just look at the people who all had Tampa Bay and Baltimore so high that they took them in like the 4th round last year. They sure learned their lesson. In fact, I bet there's a top 5 defense still available on FA, although I wouldn't know which one. I can't say I like this...we have 4 bench spots. Tight ends=poop on a hot day, stuck between your toes, after walking on glass. I was going to applaud him for waiting so long and then landing a decent TE late, but he already had one. What the....Damn it! I just realized I was gonna save this Wawa tea for later, as I drank the last of it. It's so good. I couldn't stop. Fat People : Chocolate and butter :: Joe : Wawa tea Phil, no doubt, heard the sleeper rumors around this guy. It could be true. "Finneran" sounds like a term for when you have a hankerin' for something and you're fixin to (pronounced "fidnta") eat or do it. "I have a Finneran for a corn dog right now" (I have a corndog, and plan to eat it). "You Finneran some luvin'?" (Wanna boink?). You'll notice I'm not commenting on him. I don't bother learning about guys like this. Sorry. I wanted to rank him higher, but a lot of people had him even lower than this. I compromised a bit. I like him over Stover and Janikowski, but some people had him ranked like 12th or 15th. I don't know. I don't see Green Bay having any cut in scoring. What did they lose? Schroeder? He's not even good! I think this is a great pick. I knew this was going to happen before it did. Qudanny was so into getting Steve Smith late in the draft. He told me all about this guy beforehand. He does return a lot, but he doesn't do too much receiving. People laughed at this pick, but the Q man stood by it. I'm not sure if he still has him. Either way, it added entertainment to the draft. I felt like I was in on an inside joke, because I knew Qudanny loved this guy. This is a really good pick. I was embarrassed and ashamed when I realized he got Dilfer after I took fucking Chris Redman. It was at this point that I considered my draft a failure compared to my other drafts. Dilfer seems to be projected to return earlier and earlier. First it was 8 weeks. Then 6. Now like next week or something. God, this was a really good pick, and I am a flaming homo. The drafting starts to get really great around here. This pick prompts Phil to say "Is he even playing anymore?". I laugh, because I don't realize until then that this is TERRY Allen. I don't know who I was thinking about. Actually right now I'm thinking "I need to get receivers with my next 2 picks, because of McCardell and Keyshawn". Mike is thinking "I need to get a guy who is no longer on an NFL team". Stefan is thinking about Rambone, and Oleg is thinking about his bitches. I guess this pick is OK. There's not much left. What happened to Dayne, by the way. He looked like a definite NFL star. He doesn't seem like an un-healthy guy or anything. Maybe he just didn't quite pass the cutoffs for NFL speed or size. I think I would go for a rookie guy here. Isn't Duckett still available? Doesn't matter though. He won't go onto the loser list. It's too late. Everything can be considered gambles and sleeper picks from here on out..... Except for this. Phil calls this "the Karsten Bailey Round" I call this "the Karsten Bailey Draft". Much like Ade's "Jamir Miller draft", there is no way I can do justice to this story. Oleg or Jason had just gotten done letting us all know for the bazillionth time that this draft is taking longer than they would like. Howard, I think, had just used the full 90 seconds for Ron Dayne. Then Yahoo autodrafted Karsten Bailey for G. What he was doing on G's rankings, we'll never know. Immediately after the pick, there was a short moment of silence, followed by the immediate next pick of Jon Kitna. More silence. Then something like this followed "haha" "omg" "haha" "haha" "Karsten Bailey?" "Who's that?" "who tha fuck?" "Who's that" "Oh god, Kitna too" "whAt" "Is he the starter?" "It doesn't matter, he's on the Bungles" "I don't know either of these guys" Each thing that got said made it funnier. Then there was a short moment of silence. Then came the line that put me on the floor. I don't know what it was, but coming out of Oleg, and so straight to the point, after the above exchange, I just lost it. "Is Karsten Bailey a girl?" The moment of the draft. |
