4: Countries of the Disk
The
Disc is approx. 10,000 miles across. The land is
surrounded by the circle sea which pours over the end
(how the water comes back to the land is difficult.) The
Disc has changed since it was first formed, probably by
some crazy god thousands of years ago. The continents
have shifted; perhaps they are on wheels?
There
are 4 main continents which must be learnt:
The Continent - This
contains Ankh-Morpork, Sto-plains and the
Ramtops. It stretches from the hub to the circle
sea.
Klatch - this contains
the plains of Hersheba and Howondaland. It has a
tropical and varied culture.
The Counterweight
Continent - This contains the Agatean Empire. It
is a very advanced communist civilization. (Both
Klatch and the Agatean Empire will be covered in
the Masters degree)
XXXX - This is the
un-named continent. It was created after the
other lands of the disk and has it own UU. It was
not known about until recent years when a group
of UU officials were sent there.
