And you will exist as You ... but a You enriched and matured by your experiences.
As a Soul, you know Love. Now, you know Life. And the lessons you learn here can teach you how to more fully appreciate and experience that Love.
Since the beginning of human perception, people have understood that the body was alive one moment, and then not alive the next. The main difference they could see was that the person was no longer breathing. And since death is often associated with a 'last breath', the life force in the body came to be associated with breath. Indeed, in many languages the original word for soul and breath were the same.
As our ancestors studied death more closely, they came to believe the life force or soul offered more than just breath. They looked around in nature for understanding, and observed the butterfly. Like man, the caterpillar seemingly dies and is cocooned. Then, through a miraculous process, a butterfly emerges from the cocoon free from the mortal bonds of the earthbound. Beautiful and delicate, the butterfly goes forth into a new existence.
Butterflies teach us that transformation is possible.
When Allied soldiers liberated Terezin concentration camp during WWII, they found butterflies. Pictures, paintings, drawn or scratched into the walls of the buildings. the children interned in Terezin had turned to the beauty and promise of the butterfly. 15,000 children entered Terezin; only a few survived.
The children there understood the power of the butterfly. You can, too.
